Is a tour in the military as a cook in the Pentagon the same thing as a tour as a combat infantrymen in Afghanistan? I think you're trying to make the "comparison" too literal. They're talking about a principle of civic duty and how some are making huge sacrifices while others won't inconvenience themselves even a little to serve when needed, whilst using petty excuses to justify it.
The part about not registering to vote and getting out of the jury pool has changed in recent years. I verified this and it appears many states now draw names from the Secretary of State or DMV as registered drivers. It's more than likely a state by state issue and those states with greater demand for juries (i.e. favorable states for lawsuits) typically will need to go beyond the registered voter list.
I'd add that military sacrifice is voluntary while jury duty is supposed to be compulsory, yet shirkers find ways to avoid it. Which makes the original point even stronger. Maybe RCG doesn't get it because he's a shirker.
Of course, just posting the threads themselves wouldn't make your case very well, so you dishonestly make your own addition to them. You put (youths=blacks) in all those posts. It's now how I wrote them. In any case, all of them are factual. Unlike most of the MSM garbage, it's not spin, it's actually factual. Yes, I have made threads on the horrible consequences of the policies now called "diversity" and "multiculturalism" and those too, are factually valid. People don't want to be "multicultural". Not just white people, but minorities too. That's why the more racially diverse a university is, the more students are self segregated. Same with neighborhoods and communities: people seek to surround themselves, for the most part, with people like themselves. People overwhelmingly want to live in communities and participate in organizations with people like themselves. People identify with and relate more to people like themselves, which they share more in common with. That's why when lots of blacks or lots of hispanics move into a given area, all the whites leave. When blacks or hispanics do well financially, they move to middle or upper class black or hispanic neighborhoods, if they exist. When white people are poor, they don't move into black or hispanic ghettos, they move into poor white areas or trailer parks. People, regardless of financial status, generally prefer to live amongst their own ethnic group. They also care about and have more affinity towards their own ethnic group than other groups. This does not mean that they hate other groups. It's the most natural thing in the world, is a very organic tendency, and has nothing to do with "racism".
LOL, so the same guy who is a die hard liberal, and wants higher taxes on high income earners, calls jury duty slavery? And what exactly is it when a persons labor is taken by force via confiscation of their money through taxes, and just given to someone else? I spend half the year being a slave to people who get my wealth redistributed to them, and dont lift a finger to get it off me, except every 4 years when they pull the lever for a democrat. Its funny how your back gets up against the wall when its YOUR MONEY, as opposed to the government taking someone elses. Or is this just another stupid contradiction like when you said you were a Ron Paul supporter, but want a real far left democrat running the country
You know what's funny. The liberals bitch a lot about our court system. How the courts stole the election for Bush in 2000. How the courts turned down gay marriage or whatever other issue they bitch about. Then when they actually get a chance to sit in a court and make sure justice prevails, they want no part of it. Yet the next day the courts will make another decision they don't like and they start bitching again. Here's the deal guys. You want change? You have to participate. Stop screaming at Bush, Glen Beck, Fox news, etc. Start voting. Not just in the presidential elections, all the elections. Vote for mayor, alderman, school boards, everything. When you get asked to sit on a jury, do it! When you get asked by a public official for opinion on something, give it! Go to town halls. Get involved! This country is not going to change itself. Stop shouting at the rain. Stop shouting at the TV or the AM Radio. Do something! Don't lecture me about losing a day of work. For the first time in your life you might actually be able to make a difference in somebody's life. Obama can't help you. Only your fellow man can. And you are going to get his back because if you were on the stand, he would get yours. The government can't save you or protect you. Our jury system of justice is about the closest thing we have to fairness in this country. Don't squander it! âI consider trial by jury as the only anchor ever yet imagined by man, by which a government can be held to the principles of its constitution.â Thomas Jefferson
Well said.... and Id also add that the same guy (Range Rover) who has used the line "the rich need to pay their fair share" is comlpetely unwilling to spend even 1 day of his life doing something for someonme else. The hypoceiay is stunning once again.
I knew a guy that lived near a county line. He got his mail at a POB in the next county, when they called him for jury duty he told them he didn't live in their county and he got off.... The DMV in California is a little more sophisticated than the voter thingy, their database recognized it when I used a commercial pob for my address and wouldn't let me use it for my residence but it probably will be decades before the rest of the public sector catches up with that...
Umm talk radio is the prime mover when it comes to bitching, and we both know who talk radio is dominated by, by a very wide margin. There is also a reason why nobody watches MSNBC, prolly because it's target audience have other things to do. When I hear talk of the country being in the shitter, it is not from a liberal in most cases.
Bravado is the first thing you drop if you have ever actually put yourself in harm's way. Knowing now that you never have, don't worry about it, drive on
