  2. Traders evolve. Perhaps Jack has figured how to make this work :)

Let's wait see if the student makes a profit, eh?

    Jack,

Thanks for the video. They are very helpful to get a better understanding. Would you please include the volume gaussians on your next video ?

I have a question, in doing the drills on annotating the 10 charts so kindly uploaded by polford, what are the 3 columns to be used ?

  5. thanks so much gucci.

Now we have three instruments that span the rotation of the globe.

anyone coming up to speed, can do the drills so far noted in this thread.

  6. A special thanks to tiki.

Keeping current and illustrating the pros of degapping and the three asspects: acceleration and expansion and fanning. keeps the core in focus and the iterative refinement shells available to all.

    So THANK YOU so much!!!!

  7. For four generations (my definition), the learning approach has worked for PEP and its applications.

The HS and its PM, fortunately, we where the staring point occurred. as has been stated for 50 years there is nothing new about the foundation nor its building blocks.

Punching cards for the mainframes we had at our disposal was slower than habd plotting from the WSJ's last page is 1957.

People who are learning are supported by those passing it forward.

neither treaching or being a student is what was done or is now going on. "Understanding" is not a good concept for connectingtwo individuals which convention calls "the teacher/student relationship"

In this thread we go to where the learner is and he is drawn toward to goal of person expertise. this effort will turn out the way it always does for those who do the work.

doing work is easy. the pace is determined by the student.

The theory of learning I have articulated and addressed over three generations is how learning works.

Risk of embarking on learning is ameliorated by making the first step very small. It is usually too tall for most as ET demonstrated. Most people just observe and criticize.

I like einstein's definition of insanity. In learning the approach, we get the same result as demonstrated. To expect another result, is a difficult orientation to maintain. That is your issue, not mine.

Probably we should post a progress report each week. this can be done publically by the learner. At this point the pm list provided to me is very very impressive.

usually progress is measured by a list of questions that are asked on the way to expertise. It is a matter of going down the list at the pace of thelearner. when the learner begins topass it forward, the velocity of completing the list of Q's quickens by orders of magnitude.

For example, the group who began to trade PVT in Tucson this year, reached an annual ROI of 500% the first quarter. In April the rate has shifted one decimal point in terms of profits per trade. as I go off steriods for my eyes, we will return to our routine schedule and morning trading in SCT will become a concurrent effort with the PVT trading.

Here we have the benefit of a New York day is only a morning here. k200 is just from 5pm to 11pm, here.

  8. I assume you are referring to the debriefing and not the logging.

to debrief, you note the three nested fractal's order of events. Use a fourth column to list the bars where change occurs through out the RTH's. It can be most of a portrait page.

At the bottom, for each day you can put in the carryover information in a form similar to the textual example I gave. as part of the day's work you put this on top of the reverse chron 3 ring binder you keep. A two inch binder will suffice for three or four weeks. You can label the cover of the bindr according to the weeks of the year. Mt day's work includes 10 to 12 pages of logs, two protrait prints of the day's paned glued together and folded (11 by 17 inches), and the trades printed in reverse chron as landscapes (my trades are partial fills on two levels), and the debriefing pages ( the sheet I have mentioned and there is a daily email that varies form 1 to 4 pages).

The log is 12columns wide as a landscape and margins are used for the leading indicator that is of note. Per bar each of the mutations of the forming bar is noted and in the context of the nested fractls. Some days of the week this is an attachment to the email. The two sheets of the PV panes are always part of the email as is the debriefing which contains the carryover. thus everyone is on the same page. Others originate the distribution of the PVT info. 30 minute tiles for each annotated stock are used.

The recipients are on skype and cell phones according to their mutual agreements.

my general impression of the way the public operates is that it is fairly casual. I hear of people making a point or two per day on the ES and doing some percentage a year position trading stocks by some approach. the big money record is boradly known. Here in tucson and around the globe, we do trading in another realm of performance.

It is possible to compare. I like the Greensoon and Steenbarger modus as a comparison. greenspoon gets therapy form Steenbarger and he trades 400 contracts 60 times a day and makes an average of less than a tick on 24,000 daily actions (about 10K). his capital is as expected.

  9. My compliments on most of your work on k200

Here my focus in responding to you is to consider the "completion" of fractals on each fractal. The carryover is the bridge for doing this in the context of having the degapping completed.

If a completion is taking place, it can be affected by the existing container needing modification by acceleration, extension or fanning.

One other event can take place during the completion. That is why the gree is used @ the limiting condition.

In bseball this post is like rounding third and heading to home to put the effort in the record books.

As we saw moves within the slow fractal on other contained fractals can push the slower fractals to their limits.

You have made up a set of moving points in the non stationary window as well.

customarily, and for good reason, we would ask you questions to get you to recognize how to get from third to home. by doing this this way you make it to home on your own steam and terrific accomplishments.

Here, on the otherhand we are bringing the use of k200 for making money to a fully articulated application.

So draw a degapped green line from the point 1 of the slow fractal to put yourself on notice as to whether subsequent short movement is "flowing without being terminated by limits of slowness (slope of the RTL) of the slow outer fractal that contains the trading fractal.

Leaving the gap in place makes it flow, that is for sure.

Degapping makes it more conservative and more rigorous.

we started the day as expected: short, long long, respectively in drilling down to the fastest happenings.

the short, if tested, could fold alot of bars back into prior moves of the pattern.

You DO use the green. You have the rules for its use constructed.

I am suggesting that you use it when the opportunity permits and on each fracatal within the non stationarity window of the market.

What happens when a short slow fractal is "busted" by its lomits being exceeded? The short slow fractal portions are folded back into the prior long slow fractal to complete the last move of the long slow fractal.

when completed in a brief time, then a new short slow fractal begins its overlap with the just finished long slow fractal.

Probably fanning of the RTL of the slow long fractal was required. And it is true that the way out of the overlap is near and just a matter of a brief interval.

none of this affects traders trading on the trading fractal or more expert traders trading on the point to point moves of the trading fractal.

All of this is just a matter of context. Carryover moves the context right into the opening as you degap the beginning of the day.

Jack, kindly refer to the bold, red-color sentences in above post shown on page 10. It is about using PRV.

You have mentioned them, similarly, numerous times in the past. I guess I know what you mean to compare PRV to prior completed volume bar, ie the 12 seconds stuff etc. But comparing the closing gap of PRV to forming volume bar, surges and stalls, price bar mutation... I am largely clueless for a long time. Where is the connection? When is the critical time to pay attention on PRV? Should we merely need to know increasing/decreasing, or pace level, or peak/trough in volume, and how?

Also, does PRV link to price bar volatility and overlap with prior price bar vs pace look-up table which you covered in another post? Do we have to memorize the volatility values and overlap ratio for each pace level? What if the volatility of a bar and overlap with prior bar turn out falling outside the heavily populated gaussian zones in the look-up table? Apparently, knowing higher pace leads to higher bar volatility and lower bar overlap is not sufficient.

I know I am asking lousy questions. But I have to ask now, somehow, before you run too far ahead. :D

So far, the content in this thread has been extremely helpful. Thank you very much.
