Getting Divorced.....need advice

  1. I don't think he suggested that he was married for less than 6 weeks. You may wish to read his first post again. As I understood it, he wants to go to Nevada because he can get a divorce there in only 6 weeks.

I have been married for 4 years now. I was separated for 1 year and filed for a divorce. Then I decided to withdraw my divorce and reconcile and live with her.

Once I started living under the same roof, the same things continue.......ie. verbal abuse, etc. etc. etc.. bipolar disorder, Paranoid schizophrenia etc.

The one thing I have learned from this is this: cut your losses!!!!!!

I am going to Nevada to get a divorce in 6 weeks. I wasn't married just for 6 weeks!

I would like to make some friends there since I don't know any body. Some of the best traders in the world are all divorced....Steve Cohen, Bruce Kovner...even Warren Buffet.

So dumping my wife should help me become a better trader :D :D

    :D

Is a Mexican or a Caribbean divorce valid in the U.S.? I can get a divorce even without my wife finding out in those countries :D :D

  6. Agassi, I have followed your career since the long haired days. The thing with Brooke Shields was a mismatch, and everyone knows what a loon that bird was>>is. The current wife Steffi is of champion stock and a real thoroughbred. Look past the huge shnoz and she really is quite a catch, especially for a sawed off little runt such as yourself. If I were you I'd find a way to cope with the reverse spousal abuse.

    Dr. Phil Rennick out:cool:

  7. don't you have to live there at least 6 months to be considered a resident?

you should get a drivers license, utility bills, etc., to prove it too. it'll help if you have stable employment there too.

  8. Agassi -

You can stay in an extended stay hotel & pay weekly or monthly in Vegas while you decide what to do. Most even have free high-speed wireless internet if you want to trade. Bright Trading has the main office there also so that would be another option & a way to make friends.

    Best of luck.

  9. Thanks for the clarification, i maintain the initial wording was ambiguous-it would have been much, much funnier if it was just married for six weeks though:D

Otherwise, its a freakin tragedy, rather than a comic interlude.

We can only offer the sage advice of the ET chit chat community, we dont know for a fact and certain that you weren't the problem, an arrogant, driven, obsessive man who drove a sweet, loving girl to psychopathy and mental illness, nor do we know for certain you were'nt just regular joe who got hooked up with a bunny-boiler, know what i mean.

    What is for certain, you made a few mistakes, as follows;

    1)getting married
2)not following through on the divorce, when you had the chance
3)getting married, not following through on the divorce when you had the chance

Let's get ahead of the game here-your NOT going to get married again, are you? Shake your head and say, no sirree, not going back to that hellhole.
There you go, your future is secured
    :)

  10. Go hire a lawyer, (basically you will be paying for the lawyer). Tell the lawyer you are hiring him to represent your wife and you are representing yourself. Make a confession, tell him you are a rat, a dirty rotten scoundral and an adulterer. He'll draw up the papers and have your wife sign them, (this may be the hard part). The lawyer will suggest it is in her best interests to sign the papers.
