I personally watch 787s being assembled on a daily basis. The aircraft is a work of art. The level of detail and quality is the best I've ever seen. It's really amazing.

Funny you guys think there is much US vs EU competition in Boeing vs Airbus considering Airbus employs a huge number of US aviation experts for the critical jobs, some that worked at Boeing and some for the other US plane makers like Lockheed etc.
Imagine raising your hand in that huge organization to stop production for safety reasons. There will be more of this stuff to come.
