Get Rid Of All FOREX Threads Now

  1. ET is hanging by the thread to stay alive. ANY post remotely relevant to trading is valuable and is, in fact, critical to ET survival.

  3. The Forex site could be spun off of elite-- call it eliteforextrader or something like this---- that way the casinos could still sponsor yet elite trader would be saved from the riff raff attracted to the site from the Forex threads.

For heavens sake, men, FXCM has reported that the average FOREX account is $200.00 . Unfortunately, detailed observation has revealed that this demographic in the trading community is where to trouble comes from-- of course not everyone, there are some great FOREX posters and elite users but unfortunately the trouble causers attracted by FOREX far outweigh the benefits from the few good guys in the market.

I am certain that any revenue loss would be quickly recovered as the quality of the site without FOREX would quickly attract strong advertisers to make up for the loss.

I am surprised that it isnt obvious to more long time posters what is attracting the trouble to elite.

  4. I don't know the accuracy of this statement--- but assuming its truthful-- losing the FOREX forums would be the first step in restoring elite to its former glory. Eliminating these trouble causing, politco attracting threads would likely attract better quality posts that in turn would bring bigger dollar advertisers to elite.

  5. The Forex forum shone like a star when Ivan was here.

    :) :D :D

Then he left. The Forex forum collapsed and died. Over the last several months there are nothing but corpses and ghosts wandering around in there. One ghost had the nerve to tell me he was around when the Deutsche Mark traded at 1.50.

Fast forward to now and there is a new Sheriff in town and his name is Saint ElectricSavant.

The observation that has escaped this new Sheriff is, "Dying ain't much of a livin"

And while you're at it Baron, get rid of all the Surf Report threads as well. There's no point in cleaning half your house and leaving the other half filthy.

  7. I've never spent any time in the forex forums so I have no idea what they are like. Maybe try not clicking on any forex links and see if that changes your perspective.

Are you serious? There are more trouble makers posting in your journals than in all the FX threads put together.

  9. 'emg' and 'olifxpro' are two who went around posting on every forex thread that trading is a losing game for 95%, that daytrading is impossible and books written are crap. I guess for sponsorship and entertainment value the moderators decided to let them start new threads on the same mindless topic. If they can't trade, and know that trading don't work, why are they here on ET?

Other more illustrious trolls everybody already listed in the Feedback section but never got banned. I don't think it is just the Forex forum that has attracted the undesirables. I think it is the culture of ET, where trolls are allowed to accumulate thousands of posts without getting banned.

surf's a jackass, plain and simlple.

Here's a guy who claims to be a successful hedgefund player yet trolls an Internet message board occasionally trying to sell his crap to the newbies. He gets caught. He's banned. Then he spends the next year and a half trying to come back to the site where he is not wanted under various sock puppets.

Why don't we ban him once and for all and watch the board improve IMO.
