IB puts in all kinds of random garbage like tweets on a stock and stuff. I keep my news feeds open and am constantly just looking at the new news releases and seeing if anything looks interesting, like i said above a news feed is much different than finding news on a specific symbol, if your using news feeds, you just see hundreds of headlines every day on hundreds of different symbols and you got to decide which ones warrant a trade, but if your just looking to find news on a specific symbol, once a move happens you can probably get away with just twtr and the internet.
Got it. I guess I may need to be settled using TWTR for now. I also use stocktwits, but even that is getting filled with useless posts. Thanks
I don't use any fundamentals news nor do I care what the reports say, nor do I use Twitter, but I am a where when they come out so I can trade them, I have designed patterns and automated it. Some days can be over 20 news reports that come out on https://www.dailyfx.com/calendar News is funny thing, could sound bullish and markets go down or bearish and go up, I think it is foolish to have an opinion as you can't back test easily opinions, although they can be done, but patterns are much more reliable. Study price and what happens around reports.
Learn to trade your specialty like a Jedi -- instead of trying to get first second dibs on news releases like a ratty hyena (which sometimes turns out to be 50:50 anyways, just when you think you know the direction) Just some random food for thought -- to think about in this trading psychological war game you're entering to play in,
I never trade off of news - but would like to know what may be going on when huge Futures or Forex moves go down after hours. Price action historically always precedes the news - not the other way around. I could see some of it leaking closer to real-time via Twitter. I bet every HFT is trading off of Trumps Twitter remarks - to the micro second.
What news are you people referring to? Things like Trump tweets, data, both? Edit: When you say price action historically "precedes" the news... where can I see this?
I use Twitter, TradetheNews and TradeXchange.. TradeXchange is great for the price.. TradeTheNews has a lot of info and overseas information.
