I love America, especially American democratic values. Sad to see these irrational MAGA turds running the show, pretending to be patriots. Who the fuck are you kidding?

    Actually...

    https://ustr.gov/countries-regions/...tal goods trade with,($1.6 billion) from 2023.

Based on this and the genius formula they used for calculating (ahem) "reciprocal" tariffs, the tariff on Russia should be 42% (2.5 billion deficit / 3 billion Russian exports = 81.3% --> / 2, rounded up).

(You do trade way less than before the war, obviously, but your trade volume with Russia is still several orders of magnitude higher than many countries and territories on that list).

Australians won't pay the 10% tariffs, the US consumers will pay it.

I'm waiting to see their reaction when everything goes up at least 10% plus the price of their gadgets, TVs etc goes up 50% but their pay stays the same.

It seems to me that the tariff implementation hasn't been thought out too well.
I doubt that the average American wants to work on entry level jobs and get paid $2 per hour so if new factories open the cost to manufacture products will be high and this will be reflected in the prices in the stores.
