Almost as good as Shortie's idea of shorting the VXX into the debt ceiling controversy ??? Just like this idea, it performed ok for a few hours, but ultmately went south very fast within days.

    You liked that trade too.

Obviously they scared you good, didn't they ? Long term investors are buying right now. Are you smart enough to do the same ? Can you think for yourself, or are you a slave to the media ?

  5. Scare me?! No. I have a perfectly good job and am not worried for myself one bit. Worried about the kids that have to grow up surrounded by the poor excuse for humans beings we've elected into office and the political system we've created yes. In 20 and 30yrs we're toast, Brazil, India, and China are going to be #1, so who gives a shit about what the stock market is doing today or tomorrow, it's all going down eventually your just seeing the beginning.

I'm not American, I'm Canadian. I do agree that the US has a ridiculous political system and is rapidly becoming a police state engineered to ensure the richest 1% of people keep 99% of the wealth. Canada's not perfect but we have a better path right now then the US. The US needs to change its path before its too late; one might think that economic requirements may force the issue.

It might be time for well off baby boomers in the US to become more socially responsible, less selfish, and pay their bills. Stop electing buffoons like George W. Bush, tax the rich properly, and reduce the military. Provide decent health care for everyone, stop throwing inordinate number of people in jail. Become a more compassionate, friendly society.

All that being said, stock markets are a different ball game. International companies will profit from the growth in emerging powers. I am optimistic in world economies beyond the US.
Canada is positioned to do well for at least 10 years.

Demand is growing right now for prime real estate in Canada. Maybe take an economics course and try to understand how demand/supply work on prices.

Its only going to get better. Emerging markets have a lot of new wealthy families that want their kids growing up with clean air, less crime, and better schooling. Canada is a popular choice.

I think over 10 years, that Canadian real estate will outperform US real estate at today's prices. If you don't agree, there is certainly plenty of cheap real estate in Florida and California to buy; I even heard in Detroit or Buffalo you can get a house for $100. Go for it !!!
