lol it's a little high, actually. I had a 1DTE vol-position in RTY and NQ. I was long KRE and RTY against ES. Roughly equal notional. I'd shorted NQ near the overnight high, covered, went to pee, came back and my RTY long against NQ had rallied 6 in those < 5mins. Stupid, blind-ass luck
What beach block? RockaPoco as some of us used to refer to it is where I grew up. But outta there since '91. BTW Bernie Madoff was a lifeguard down in Far Rockway way, way back in the 60's.
"Small world". One of my brothers lives right across the street in Surfside bldg# 106, but at the time we lived down in the 90's where the beaches have rock jetties. From what I understand after SuperStorm Sandy beaches uptown now have rock jetties to try to mitigate beach sand erosion. Prolly helps lifeguards, somewhat, with protecting swimmers - rip currents, etc. Although with the size of crowds they get there on many hot, sweltering, humid summer days, as you no doubt experienced, it's still can a tough job no matter the conditions.
