I got rid of my landline years ago so I'm good in that department. :fistbump::D

So now you just need to figure out how to protect your cable/TV/Internet lines from lightning strikes and you would be all good!! :)

Your speed will be impacted by the number of devices on your home network, time of day, type of computer that's connected to your home network and the server you're testing (e.g. best to test your connection to your broker server instead of your local server).

This is my test. The image contains three tests. The first test (left in the image) is wired test to broker server, center is WiFi test to broker server and the right is local test to the ISP. The numbers are a little better when there's no other devices (e.g. kids iPad/android, kids nintendo swith, kids Xbox) connected to my home network while my computers for trading are connected.

950 mbps wired via fast.com / 230 mbps wifi via fast.com / 1.1 gbps via the ISP test

In fact, using the ISP test instead of Fast.com, I have the option of running the tests with/without the other devices connected to my home netword as shown in the image on the right.

Thanks to this thread...I never heard of mesh router and such...I'm now looking into it to improve my WiFi connection. Hopefully I can improve my WiFi connections via mesh after I have a discussion with the guy that manages my home network. Recently, I had a few disconnections while outside on WiFi about 50 feet away from the home while there were no other devices connected to my home network except for my computers for trading.

Wow, 950 mbps is smokin' fast. That's crazy.

That’s wired, though. I have a 1 gig symmetrical connection and cable backup. I don’t want to run cat5 all over the house. I only run Ethernet to diagnose/maintain.

Your physical connection won’t improve but your WiFi will probably hit 600+.

73.51 mbps on 3 year old Moto Surfboard hard wired.

I use a 1500 VA Surge/UPS unit, that although it has probably saved me more than a few times, know that it can always be beaten by mother nature if she really packs a mean punch.
