German unemployment according to the concept of the International Labour Organization decreased seasonally adjusted 330,000 persons or 10.1% year-on-year to 2.96 million in July, the Federal Statistical Office said Tuesday. Compared with June 2010, the seasonally adjusted number of unemployed dropped by 20,000 persons or 0.8%. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate, which is harmonized across the EU and measured as the share of unemployed in the total labor force, was 6.9% in July. In the corresponding month of the previous year, the unemployment rate was 7.6%.
