Germany’s Hypo Real Estate says rescue collapsed

Discussion in 'Wall St. News' started by ASusilovic, Oct 5, 2008.

  1. The situation at Hypo is ominous as are the deteriorating newsflows since the US vote (not to mention a 400 point intraday drop in the Dow).

You do not want to be short the US markets at 8AM EDT Monday in case we cut.

  2. that seems eerily similar to what the bankers are doing now...getting religion by praying salvation will come by way of the Fed, and angling for handouts as they implore and beseech for mercy.

on the assumption that 'new' churchgoers, or 'born-again's' (any limit to how many times?) may also be seeking the 'support' of their 'new-found friends' at the church they have 'selected', the similarities may acute.

and as for the bankers 'praying' for salvation, it may be more like 'preying' for salvation.

hey Warren, care to go for 'double 'er nuthin' on that GS preferred? I am sure they will be ecstatic to sell ya another load in the hole.

  4. Agree 100% that this is obviously false.
It holds no such relevance in Europe and probably is likewise false for many places in the US.

  5. Peer Steinbruck (left, socialist German Secretary of Finance) and Dr. Axel Weber (Academic university professor, German Bundesbank President): completely misjudging the situation they're finding themselves in.

  8. That is completely false...
There are more than 25 million people holding or with rights of Italian citizenship here in Brazil, and the south of Italy was "assimilated" greatly with marauders... so there is a great mixture into Italian "bloodline", and the Italians I see here in Brazil - from Italy - are absolutely not racists.

They are involved in prostitution control, drugs, human trafficking and organized business crimes - as well as legal stuff - but their image is certainly "varied". Italy is a mess politically and economically - and Italians are very "emotional" as opposed to "rational", but that is how nations differ.

  9. You DO know how social democracy has changed during the last decades in Europe, don't you?

Also, Hypo pertains to businesses and not retail private customers - so there is no squeeze on German banks as of yet.
    :p

    :D

    i beg to differ.

next time i checked, italy was one of the countries in the G8. how is that for "economic and political mess?"

with all due respect, your comment on how the italians are involved in prostitution, drugs and human trafficking in your country is a clear indication of xenophobia.

in my country, most of crimes are committed by brazilians and i dont think that's because of their nationality. using these stereotypes to make a point reveals ignorance.
