Hey wildchild,if my side agreed to end abortions would you and your side agree to raise taxes to pay for every child in America to live above the poverty line with a minimum standard of housing, healthcare, nutrition and education?

Child poverty in the U.S. is among the worst in the developed world

The United States ranks near the bottom of the pack of wealthy nations on a measure of child poverty, according to a new report from UNICEF. Nearly one third of U.S. children live in households with an income below 60 percent of the national median income in 2008 - about $31,000 annually.

In the richest nation in the world, one in three kids live in poverty. Let that sink in.

The UNICEF report pegs the poverty definition to the 2008 median to account for the decline in income since then - incomes fell after the great recession, so measuring this way is an attempt to assess current poverty relative to how things stood before the downturn.

With 32.2 percent of children living below this line, the U.S. ranks 36th out of the 41 wealthy countries included in the UNICEF report. By contrast, only 5.3 percent of Norwegian kids currently meet this definition of poverty.

Hey dunce. Have you ever heard of a thing called personal responsibility?

Second of all, I thought Obamacare mandated people have healthcare plans that include contraception. If all these plans include contraception, why do we need all these abortions? I guess we can chalk that one up to another Obamacare failure.

  7. Oh, no one doubts that the dems have been good at promoting the free stuff and the entitlement mentality. After all, that is the life blood of the Dem Plantation. Keep em poor and begging and without skills and motivation so that you can take them down off the shelf and use them for their votes at regularly scheduled intervals.

The medicaid expansion under Obamacare was just a small part of the overall scam.
The federal gov't paid more at the beginning and then start paying less of the extra costs, hanging the states with the added costs.
The states that took the bait are wrecking their budgets.

It was just part of the hoax of it all being affordable. The states that didn't want to reek havoc with their budgets passed on the expansion, and then the army of online liberal trolls claim that republican governors are contemptible for not caring about the health care of the chillin.
