but a socialist will never go for low taxes. And corruption is the only way they know to make money. And when they finally run out of money it takes a capitalist to tell them, "Sorry comrade, you didn't actually make that money, you just stole it."

no not really just a world of the drachma, which would be very good for them at this time. The poor would feel the less of the pain. Give a man a competitive currency and he can rule the world.

I thought they would need to exit the eurozone if they default, but tbh i really can't see why they have to. Just default, tell the Jarmans they can fook off, implement a banking system independent of the ecb and use the euro.

no point in reintroducing drachma, they'll have to endure hyperinflation which will be worst than the economic mess now.

you sure about that? Germany has the ECB to control their currency. an RBG (reserve bank of greece) could control their currency and that would make more sense at this time. Unlike the USA, Europe is still very young. We went through our time of duel currency. Keep the faith, and maybe someday you will be a great nation like we are.

I'm just funning with you. Yes, when we finally won, UK said, "Just wait, they'll end up just like us." But after 200 years they are trying to be more like us. Including a Union and one currency and everything else USA has. They have a lot of catching up to do. They missed out on about the best 200 years in history. But I hear ya, if we are not careful we will end up just like they did.

"a great nation like we are"
both Europe and the US are currently on the decline.

you sure about that? How so? Even the poorest person in USA 2015 lives better than the middle class lived in 1950. Perhaps that is indication of decline, I don't know. They say Sweden is the best, but USA is not a bad place to live if you are poor. If the poor are doing better than they were 20 years ago I would say we are not in decline. Of course, it would always be better to have less poor, but by definition they will always be about 20% of our population, so a good measure of success is to see how they are doing.
