I thought so too! But my suggestions are not entirely in jest. If Germany won't agree to a Eurobond, and they won't, then either they or the PIGS must exit from the EU. If the PIGS exit, they must try to persuade the French to join them in a real fiscal union. Draghi knows this all too well. He can't play his best hand to pull the PIGS out of recession without a eurobond and without Germany's cooperation. There is no painless solution to the economic problems that plague the EU at the present moment, but what I have suggested is by far the least painful way out of recession and has the best chance of avoiding years of unnecessarily prolonged recession among the PIGS. The increased productivity and GDP would allow them to pay back the additional debt created in the process of applying stimulus to their economies.. This is the time for Keynesian economics; not bone headed Misesian. Under the right circumstances even individuals can invest themselves out of a debt spiral; countries certainly can. It simply is not true that you can't solve a debt problem by acquiring more debt. The difficult part is finding a sufficiently enlightened source of credit; then putting the money in the place where it will do the most good. Of course none of this makes sense without economic reform, but there, progress has already been made! And too, it is counter productive to charge Greece exorbitant interest, as that will only make it even more likely that its creditors will not be paid all they are owed.
I merely outline the facts and figures, and provide the proper context as expressed by the leaders of the various nations involved in the EU crisis. Can you address the actual information with pertinent researched summaries rather than regularly attacking others who comprehensive synopsis of complex economic and political situations. If not, then obviously you have nothing of value to put forward. Your continual assertion that anyone who posts information about Germany that contravenes your distorted perspective somehow hates Germany or are victims of war crimes is absurd. I have worked and lived in Germany. My wife's parents are German. I have regularly visited with her very sizable side of the family in Germany, and have very much enjoyed my stays throughout Germany. I have also traveled in East Germany shortly after the wall came down, and learned much from the easterners I met. Along with many 50+ aged friends in Germany - as a member of the older generation, I find the most disturbing problem to be younger individuals who re-write history in a web of self-deceit and twisted truths trying to obscure reality rather than learning from it.
This is utterly upsetting. May we Greeks remind our German brethrens our contribution to Europe ? Have you vile mass murdering Aryans already forgotten we offered to add olive oil to the Sauerkraut in a bid, directly inspired by Plato taking a dump in the cave, to restore Europe its shine on top of this miserably materialistic world ? Speaking of which, may we remind you of the 268 000 000 002 euros and 12 cents invoice we are still owed by Germany for the cabbage bound ( Olive) oil we will start shipping as soon as our laborers return from summer nap ? Do you want us to even get started with the prospects of Feta in modern warfare ? Please start showing us some respect, and we may start being friendly while cashing out your cheques. Hearthless terrorists.
The Union for the Mediterranean exists; it consists of 43 members. 28 of these nations also have EU memberships. France is actively working to strengthen this union as a competitor to the EU - the current work involves trying to create a free trade zone based on the Union for the Mediterranean. If France is able to pull in more developed countries such as Turkey and Italy as well as energy providers such as Algeria and Libya in an enhanced trade focused union the benefits would be substantial. France would also be the strongest economic member of an updated Union for the Mediterranean thereby making it the leader (assuming northern EU nations drop out). Many of the PIGS are likely to look for alternative to the EU if the Union for the Mediterranean gains momentum - some are likely to kiss off EU membership and required economic reforms while bailing on imposed euro debts.
I had virtually no knowledge of these other alliances, so thank you. In February, I believe it was, Soros gave a speech in Frankfurt in which he told the Germans that they must either agree to a eurobond or leave the union. I think Soros is correct. The lack of a eurobond is a serious flaw, hampering the ECB's effective use of monetary policy..
To have someone pay for "your" fuxxups is always the least painful way for "you". But it's not the moral way.
No, I won't reply to your Web of lies. Germany has paid all it's war reparations , debt before and during the war, and made payments to victims of war crimes. There will always be some greedy individuals who try to extort more. So I am not surprised that you fell for such claims.
Lol, yes, a union of the flying olives, tomatoes and Feta cheese mixed in with North African terrorists. Greeks should definitely join such union. It would suit their morale and attitude to work.
Our little Jew...oh how sleek he is...plunging the world (ups, pound) into chaos to enrich himself and then playing school teacher in making the "right" economic decisions? I don't think so. Merkel does not even regard Soros to be worthy to eat lentil soup together. Soros should donate all his wealth to his fellow needy Greeks...and not other world's ills...
