beggars can't be choosers. If you need somebody to clean your toilets, you can either breed them and raise them or simply import them. If you on't like it invent a self cleaning toilet.
maybe not toilets, but population growth. No one yet has come up with a sustianable economy (I almost had perpetual motion down a couple of times, but in the end friction raised it's ugly head.) It's all based on growth. If you can't breed new consumers you need to buy them.
The whole endless growth via population argument was invented by open door immigration proponents to sell it to the idiot masses. It holds no water. We're quickly approaching the singularity anyway, where robots do most of the jobs for us making the need for endless consumers/labor irrelevant and surplus.
