Georgians want Tenn. water

  1. Legislators from Georgia are looking into moving their border with Tenn. a mile further into what is now Tenn. territory. They want water from the Tenn river.

The odd thing about this is that Tenn. doesn't particularly like this idea. Tenn. has plenty of water, so the only conclusion one can draw is that they are a bunch of greedy bastads.

GA also , with all due respect, should stop bragging about Atlanta being fastest growth area, with water supply lakes drawing down record levels.

And pray more/persistantly for rain, like GA gov , & Alabama gov has done a few times,Cool

  4. One thing that can be done immediately here, is to require all new subdivision yards or new home yards to be more water conservative. Far more of the natural foliage and trees should be kept rather than replacing it with grass. And if grass is put down it, it should be required that it be an extremely drought resistant variety, that requires very little water to make it through our horrible summers.

The next home I buy in North Georgia (mountains) is going to have an all natural yard. Nothing but trees, bushes and rocks. No need for a sprinkler system and no yard chemicals from Chem-Lawn. Every time I look at my sprinkler system on now, I think, what an incredible waste of water.

this is just the tip of the iceberg, so to speak

why are so many vaaaaaast regions of the western USA nearly useless?

    because there's no water

yet, we blast our population sky high with immigration, legal and illegal with no thought of the water consequences, which are starting to be felt in the population centers of the west and atlanta

when was the last time you heard any mainstream media or government official ever discuss the maximum population potential of this country with regard to water and immigration levels?

    perhaps....never?

regardless about how one feels about immigration and immigrants, thats completely insane

turn a metro dry, and you turn it completely upside down

The Government, or at least the Democrats, would like to raise my taxes. I'm not really all that much in favor of it, even though I have plenty of money. I must be one greedy SOB.
