You're forgetting a salient point. Murtha's status as an "unindicted co-conspirator" in the Abscam scandal was LONG BEFORE Iraq! No need for the GOP to spin or manufacture stories about Murtha. He's been in one scandal after another. The GOP should do a better job of publicizing this stuff though. Between Murtha and Hastings the Democrat's have a chance to place both an "unindicted co-conspirator" and an impeached Federal Judge as Chairmen of House Committees. How grand.
