Much like the entire season, Kevin Harvick was untouchable in Friday Night's Busch Series Race, leading 153 laps, and easily winning the Emerson Radio 250 at Richmond. - Spydertrader
Rookie Denny Hamlin takes the pole for tonight's NASCAR Nextel Cup Series race at Richmond International Raceway. The conclusion of tonight's race determines who makes the ten race Playoffs known as The NASCAR Chase to the Championship. - Spydertrader
The question on my mind tonight is: Can Smoke make though the race without being involved in a wreck, after starting 40th? His rotors are already glowin' red. Patience Tony...patience.
Finishin' the race wasn't enough for the #20 team. Tony finished 16 points outside the top ten, to eliminate him from participating in "the chase for the cup". First time in Tony's Nextel Cup career that he will finish the season outside of the top ten. Congrats Spider for Jeff makin' it despite his crapy car tonight. Also congrats to Mark Martin for makin' it as well. I guess I'll be rootin' Denny Hamlin and Martin. The rookie and the senior veteran.
Although I have often made fun of Pasta Boy in the past, I take no satisfaction at Smoke's demise this week. I feel your pain - as I experienced the same last year. Unfortunately, one of the idiot Busch Brothers took Tony's spot this year. As a result, I look forward to Stewart providing a little 'payback' during the next ten races. - Spydertrader
Kevin Harvick passed Kyle Busch on the last lap Saturday to win the Chevy Rock and Roll 400 from Richmond. Kasey Kahne also raced his way into the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series Chase for the Championship, while defending Champion Tony Stewart missed the cut by 16 points. - Spydertrader
Schumacher to quit at end of year - Spydertrader
With as many cars as Tony wrecked this year I have no sympathy for the guy missing out. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. He's probably the best current driver in the series, but, his actions this year sunk him.
With the field set, The Chase for the Nextel Cup begins next week at New Hampshire. Nine veteran drivers and one rookie fight it out over the next 10 races for the honor of Nextel Cup Champion. Who do you plan to cheer on to victory lane? Who do you like? Who do you hate? Who has the combination of momentum, skill, consistency and luck to propel them to the front of the pack? Not surprisingly, I look for Jeff Gordon and the #24 Dupont Chevy team to win it all and win their fifth Cup Championship. Thoughts? - Spydertrader
