  1. Random thoughts.....

    ........on Danica signing with AGR.
I think it is a brilliant move on AGR's part speaking strictly from a marketing standpoint. Here in Milwaukee, she received the biggest ovation from the fans when introduced. Second biggest ovation was for Marco. So now they will have the two most popular drivers.

    ....on Hornish winning Indy.
Now sit down for this one...he should have let Marco win. It would have been a HUGE boost to interest from the casual sports fan. More have heard of Marco than Sam, and who's been racing longer? If Marco would have won, fan interest would have taken a HUGE jump. Before you get too excited, NASCAR has done it, and they are the motorsports marketing kings. Do you really think it was a coincidence that the King won his 200th the same day President Reagan was there? duh.......

......The two open wheel series need to join as one, there isn't enough interest to support both series. An Indy 500 without Paul Tracy or the other stars of the other series? That's just stupid. So now we get two series with 10 quality drivers, and the rest are fillers. There isn't enough money available to put that much quality equipment on the tracks.

......Penske kills whatever open wheel series he is in. Testing 5,000 miles for a 500 mile race (Indy). WTF is that? How is the IRL going to attract other teams and sponsors to a series with that going on?

....The field in NASCAR should be on time only, not how many points the team has. I say it should be the fastest forty. It kinda has a nice ring, don't it? Drag racing has the fastest 16 in the pro categories, and they have no problem filling the field. Lot's of teams show up that go home unqualified.

......At the Daytona 500, let everyone race. What, 50 cars usually show up? Jesus, the track is 2.5 miles, the pits are plenty big, let 'er rip!

I've rambled enough for now, but I'll have more later.:D

  2. I think Boyer inadvertently made Stewart's point for him. Here's a rookie driver in decent equipment who for some reason can't hold his line. He claimed he was trying to keep out of other drivers' way and let them by, yet he squeezes the 20 up against the wall. The 20 had passed him cleanly but Boyer acted like it was the last lap of the Daytona 500. Any veteran driver would have been ticked off. Of course Stewart overreacted, but he's trying to make the Chase and a rookie nearly takes him out 20 laps into the race.

Boyer is either in over his head driving Cup or is full of crap. Maybe both.

  5. Went out and watched Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby tonight, and I must say, I found the movie quite amusing. Will Ferrell movies can be hit or miss (Anchorman), but I think most people (NASCAR fan or not) will like this movie. I'll even go out on a limb and predict the movie scores a Top Five Finish this weekend - with an outside chance of taking the checkered flag.

  7. lol.. I'll take the smiley for what it's worth and assume that this is a joke post. I think Danica knows how to drive a race car just fine. Certainly better than you ;)

I don't think that she has to 'learn to drive'.

4th in Indy last year, wasn't she?
