  1. Stewart Sustains Fracture of Right Scapula: #20-Tony Stewart sustained a fracture of his right scapula in Sunday's Coca-Cola 600 Nextel Cup Series race when a flat right front tire sent his #20 Home Depot Chevy into the SAFER barrier on the outside retaining wall of turn one. Stewart was running in the 25th position when the accident happened on lap 33 of the 400-lap race. According to doctors at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC, a CT scan revealed a minimally displaced fracture at the tip of the right scapula. Stewart is scheduled to meet with Joe Gibbs Racing's team physicians on Tuesday for further evaluation. An update on Stewart's condition will be provided following that evaluation.

  4. Stewart to drive until the 1st caution... then Ricky Rudd to replace him to finish the race! Cool. I'll be cheering the #20 car for a change!

  7. Where would you rather spend a weekend...

    Talledega or Monaco

I'll take those pointy nose cars anytime. They represent pure engineering excess.

The modern F1 car is the last form of purely extravagant and challenging engineering left.

We used to have IMSA and Lemans, but now those are just shells.

F1 is where everyone comes and brings their A games.

Toyota will race in Nascar as a marketing tool, let's not kid ourselves. They will not learn anything that hasn't been learned or will be applicable to future automobiles.

Toyota has spent over a Billion in F1 and will continue to do so. They love the engineering challenge it represents.

F1 is at its heart about engineering passion, precision, simply the fastest form of racing in the world.

Of course I guess 500 million euros spent every year will achieve those results.

My dream is we would have Americans that were that passionate about racing spend an equal amount of money, and see what we could bring to the table.

I am not going to be the one who starts another war over something as trivial as different forms of racing, but it 's always been my desire to see what America could really bring to the table if we wanted to.

Nascar will never represent the advancement that F1 continues to achieve. From that standpoint and many others I find it underwhelming.

I know there are many on the other side of that equation, so let me not be the one who claims one over the other.

I just needed to speak up for those pointy noise cars.

BTW spyder I love your journal. Keep u the good work

  8. Spyder,

When you eventually purchase your Ferrari with the sequential gearbox, you'll appreciate the same engineering excellence Schumacher enjoys :D
