Ya know I loved DE, but that finish really pissed me off. Hey, while I'm thinkin' about recent retirees and being snubbed.. What happen to Ricky Rudd's retirement last year. I really got pissed about Rusty and Mark Martin(somewhat lesser extent) getting so much attention about retiring, and barely anything said about Rudd's illustrious career. Even at the awards show, he was totally snubbed. I felt bad for him.
You're right... looking around the net he just kind of had a quiet ending. Unfortunate considering this statement from his website: "NASCARâs âIron Man,â Rudd started a Cup-record 788 straight races from 1981 to the last race of his career in November 2005. He won Rookie of the Year honors in 1977 and is one of NASCARâs 50 Greatest Drivers!!"
