  1. Yea! Like Smoke being replaced by an 18 year old kid. Wazzup with that? Does The Coach think this kid can translate his ARCA Success into NASCAR's top series? Joey Legano? Who?

  2. I'm dubious. It's not like he lit up the Nationwide races, when everyone knows he had the best equipment. He won once, but Hamlin ruled in the 20. He needs another year, maybe more in Nationwide.

I'm reasonably sure Gibbs knows this though. Their problem is who else to put in the car. It's not like there are a lot of Kyle Buschs hanging around looking for rides. I don't know Logano's contract situation, but they don't want to risk losing him to another team. It's not like Smoke has put the 20 car in front a lot this year either, so they won't be giving up much if Logano isn't challenging for wins every week.

  3. AAA

Your starting to scare me brother...complaining about bumping and now not giving up much if Lagano takes over the 20 Home Depot????????? Uhmmmm

Come on man...I'll give you ten minutes to retract or Im gonna flame you!:D :D

  4. Yeah, AAA's last comment makes me think he doesn't watch every week. Tony is solid, in the Top 10 in points, still consistent even though he hasn't won this year. I'm not his biggest fan personally, but I'd take him over Logano. I think that Joe's afraid of losing him to another team, so he's fast-tracking him to Cup.

Has anyone seen the Rolling Stone piece about Tony? I don't know if it was particularly flattering.

  5. I use to hate Tony...but i've kind of grown to respect him and dare i say....like him!!! He's a good guy when he's not being an asshole if that makes any sense:confused:  My 8 year old loves him and at daytonna 2 years ago...he signed my son's brand new 50.oo fucking dollar TS jacket with a silver sharpie....he was really good to the kids....that said..TS seems to be a roll driver...he STILL has not his roll where he wins 4 or 5 races out of 10....and guess what...he might be over due for his run right when the chase starts!!

  6. His roll has moved from his good luck side to around his middle....

  7. Hey, join the club.

I have been a huge Tony Stewart fan since he ruled the IRL. Unfortunately, it's clear to me he has other priorities than winning races. Same with Jeff Gordon. When they were young and hungry, they found a way to get to the front. Now if they have a tenth place car, ok, they will finish tenth or maybe ninth.

Tony has the same equipment as Kyle Busch. He had bad luck a couple of races he probably should have won, but so did Kyle. Clearly Logano is not the driver Tony is. Few are. I just don't think the 20 car will become a backmarker with him steering it though.

Maybe I am being a little harsh on Tony because I hate the thought of him leaving JGR. Not a brilliant move, in my opinion, but give the man credit for planning for his life when he no longer is driving.

  8. Well, NASCAR really went and done it this time.

The <strike>Budweiser</strike> Coors Light Shootout is no more. Call it the Corporate Shout Out, now. For those of you not quite up to speed on these changes, a quick summary ...

No longer do 'Pole Winners' gain enterance to the race.
Top 6 teams from each Manufacturer do make it in.

Stewert and Newman = not racing in this thing.
Joey Logano = Without running a single race as yet, is in next year.
Michael Waltip yup, he's in too.

    WTF!!

  9. Ya know Spy....

You ever get the feeling NASCAR is turning into Major league baseball? Just when the had the sportsworld by the balls and were the # 1 sport for 50 years, MLB did EVERYTHING it could possibly do over a 20 year peroid to destroy it...

sadly, NASCAR is heading in the same direction....I go to the BUD every year now for 6 years....got to be honest...no smoke? no TM....Tony is one of the best restrictor racers out there....they will suffer from this...Jr. is #1 at daytona, Gordon a distant 2nd but Tony is right there with him at that track.....if NASCAR thinks there are empty seats now, just wait to see what happens !!!

why not fade this in? allow 5 exemptions for "sponsors" like the PGA does? Arnold Palmer and Jack Nick. weren't competative for 25 years yet sponsors could " let them in so people will watch our tournament"

BTW..the Bud was a huge turnout this year becuase of Jr and his new ride.....next year? Im thinking 40k at most unless they get their shit together...
