Please do not talk about vol-edge when you're take an outright flyer. Vega is meaningless if the stock drops. You were down $500 yesterday on delta...

Why not straddle it off (short 50 shares), than to take 100% price risk? Perfect time as it's near neutral for the straddle here.

  4. Hi,
because we have a directional bias and what was said about vol-edge was under this bias (a rising stock). Not sure I am going to manage the trade since this thread is about using options as a substitute for spot . The only mention to IV was linked to earnings date before expiry. This directional bias is relevant for the strategy, GOOG is not falling its the SPX whhich is running to the hills. Poetic view I recon.

My point is that any vol-edge isn't edge in a single. Not to beat a dead-horse. Vol isn't going to drop, but you'll lose $400 in a week at current, even if the vol bids 200bp here. Therein lies the rub; you can't isolate vola when buying a single.

    I realize this was a long-spec.

  6. Hi,
Every position is now in the green though we suffered significant drawdown during the SPX sell off. I stop posting because I don't find time to do things properly. Good trading to you all.
