I'd be the last one to defend "compassionate conservative" George W. Bush. But I have to say this, the Democratic opposition to Bush's policies was tepid to say the least. Most of them voted for the wars, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Patriot Act. Most of them favored his Medicare D prescription program, adding trillions of dollars in unfunded liabilities. Teddy Kennedy loved it. I find it bizarre that there are still people loyal to either party.
