Seeing Vinny's posts, i am highly sceptic too whether he actually trades anything significant ...

The first post says it all

I'll be in Amsterdam for 2 weeks in June for the first time. It is going to be sooo great to be able to smoke pot and not have to worry about anything.

I haven't been daytrading stocks that much lately. Out of curiosity, does the short sale rule exist for nyse and nasdaq stocks?

Also, what happened to the american stock exchange?

I don't know why hedge funds and mutual funds need to exist. People should just invest in ETF's or individual stocks and bonds themselves.

Forget stock investing. It's extremely risky. I just buy zero coupon treasury bonds with the longest maturities. I bought some 4 months ago, and they are already up 10%. I can probably make at least 20% per year buying the longest maturities and holding them for a year or two, selling them, and then buying again the longest maturity bond.

The uptick rule was abolished nearly two years ago. Currently, there's chatter in Congress about restoring it. The SEC meets April 8th and it may be reincarnated then.

  5. This would be the night for GE to declare bankruptcy and go to a buck.

I wouldn't know whether to laugh or cry for the OP.

  6. What's wrong with smoking pot?

As far as the zero coupon treasuries go, I bought some in May of last year and sold them in December for an 80% return, an $800,000 profit in 7 months.

  7. I would cry if that happened. I highly doubt that GE will go below $5 by tomorrow.

Vinny1 you come across as a troll.. you said in earlier post that you are risk averse. However in this thread you did exactly opposite.

Nothing wrong with smoking pot though, however smoking pot when trading is not a good idea.

    Either way, nice thread..

  10. I don't smoke pot when trading.

I don't think buying GE at $5 per share is risky. I believe in the company at $5 per share.
