GE is awesome. It is the most liquid stock in town. Look at the kickback now. I will probably get put GE at 13 but I got some nice premiums for my troubles. I will probably write calls 1 point in for a month forward A few 2million or more block trades just crossed. GE will swing violently in any which direction. For all you know it could swing to 12.50 or 13 next week.
Back out the dividend payment and they were inline. Account for the payment and they missed by 4 cents. Since they own a financial network Iâm sure they can spin it.
IF GE would drop to lets say 11 a share. Since GE has 48 billion of cash on the balance sheet they could buy a big chunk of the company back, that would be a shit load of outstanding float since GE market cap at 11 would be less that 125 billion. It could potentially cut float to lets say 6billion shares less shares to pay dividends on obviously. Would be a very interesting though unlikely scenario.
$5 in 1987 to $12 in 2009! What a BLUE CHIP lol probably flush under 10 before its over. Then load the boat.
You got to be joking. Did you forget to even add the splits It would have been 120 in 87 if GE never split it would be trading at 288 today not considering the dividends into the equation. In 82 Ge in sept would have been 74 bucks Today if it did not split since 82 would be trading at 576 Why do you think BRK.A is so expensive, he never splits his stock. IF companies never split you would see much less volume on the markets, all stocks would trade with BRK.A volumes.
wrong! http://finance.yahoo.com/q/bc?s=GE&t=my&l=on&z=m&q=l&c= "Are charts split adjusted? Charts are adjusted for splits" http://help.yahoo.com/l/sg/yahoo/finance/charts/chart-08.html
I guess the buyer is saying hello. Time decay is a bitch and IV dropping + a few pennies at best of intrinsic value, although it is OTM by 5 cents today. House edge goes to the writer with this high IV and subsequent IV collapses. I also wrote 13 calls on GE thursday before earnings (1.46) for feb as well Only worth today even though its ATM/ITM .86 cents too many buyers have no clue what they are doing.
