I hold no ill-will towards the guy, but I will call obvious BS when I see it. The vast majority of his posts prove them same.
I think he posts late as he runs an automated strategy, so cannot post in real-time. This also gives the oppotunity to falsify results but you cannot verify this. I try and post in realtime, the only time i cannot update is if it is in the middle of the night.
I understand your point, but he posted the 216.92 short AFTER his buy to close price had been hit. He proceeded to post the fantasy 215.58 exit 70 minutes later, after GBP had rallied 77 pips. IOW, his 9:20 EDT post was artifact of the entire trade cycle... 215.58 had already printed when he posted the short to open at 216.92. This is a good thread and I don't want to pollute it with controversy. I don't post a trade unless it's in real-time and I am glad you attempt the same. There is no plausible explanation for the omitted-exit on the 9:20 EDT post, but I will leave it here.
So for the purpose of the thread how do you avoid late postings? What purpose does it gain by posting false results, as it wont make them a better trader. Now you mention it I notice a lot of people have bough bottoms & sold tops recently, long after each has been established.
Sorry, but you might be missing my point. He posted the opening 216.92 short after his profitable exit-to-close was touched. GBPJPY went up like a dot-shot from there and the 215.58 print was not seen again. Motivation? We like to be perceived as winners. This board wouldn't exist otherwise. Who knows. It's simply a matter of posting when the fill is trading somewhat concurrent with legitimate pricing. No harm done, but it's evidence of BS.
I am missing the point here. You need to spell it out better as there are so many different direction positions and times. Could he have not posted a new position but just an existing one?
9:20amEDT: Posted a new, short to open a position at 216.92. Price was trading 215.45-215.70... his exit price posted 70 minutes later was at 215.58? He was already out. Why the glaring omission at 9:20, as both the short and cover were history. Is it possible he didn't see his short was covered? Sure, uh huh. 216.60 was never seen again. 10:30amEDT: Posted his 215.58 exit. Price was trading 216.35.
No clear signs for me right now. I might consider shorting any rally into the 216.20 area looking for the low 214.00s and take a long from there, but I'm not taking a position mid-range.
