ET wasn't working from my home computer most of the night and is now working here at work so I'm updating my trades now. I was never filled for my half GBP/JPY short and it dropped quite a bit. I did, however, take a long position at 214.40 which is currently underwater a bit, but nothing to get concerned about. My EUR/JPY trade made target nicely overnight to compensate me while I slept. I woke up and took a half position long at 160.30 with an order in to buy the other half at 160.07
I don't mean any offense, but do you always get such small profits from such large volumes? I have been tradin only 20,000 in volume and have been getting equal to or double the returns. Maybe my style is just to capture larger moves.
I have Big on ignore, so I didn't see this until now. My sincerest apology. I assumed that it was BS due to the exit price printing prior to the entry being posted and had nothing to due with time and sales. Excellent trading, congrats. What is your average profit to drawdown?
-128pips on yesterday short. Shorted again at 215.22 this morning closed at 214.14 +108pips. I am currently flat in GBP/JPY. However, I took a short on GU at 1.9610, 1.97st as I fully expect the BOE to cut rates tomorrow. Which could see cable down in the 1.93 level before long. Sorry for not posting in real-time like i normally do, but i could not access this website at all for the last 12 hours. Not sure what was wrong.
I don't understand this confirm... it shows "trade price" on GBPJPY denominated in USD? What broker would show a GBPJPY price with a US dollar sign attached? It shows GBPJPY trading at "$216.92"? Would you mind posting it again as it's been deleted. Who is the broker?
Was this for me? I'm not sure what you're refering to. I traded 3 standard lots (300k) on all the trades listed. I didn't post my PnL - only trade confirmations.
Thanks Atticus. By the way what is the payoff on the options if they DNT 212.8 over the next few days? Whats your friend doing now 10mm to 110m guy?
Payout is $24,700; 5:1 risk which is poor, but was a high probability. It expires tonight at Midnight. It was a bet on reduced equity index vol. I wasn't inclined to extend the duration to the BOE decision. I haven't talked to him in 6 months or so, but I hear his AUM is over $200MM.
OK Atticus, I accept if in that this is sincere, which I'll assume it is. We good now. I can run that stat later in software but I can tell you that I have an average win ratio of over 65% with the win PnL averaging 6x larger than the loss PnL. Maybe on the high end of typical for a trend following system. Most losses come from the sys entering the trend too early. I walk forward optimize every 10 days using the most current 10 day data as Out of Sample. Drawdown is tame except during very range bound conditions - which I try to stay clear of.
