  3. Lamb Weston Holdings (LW)-

Lamb Weston is the leading U.S. frozen potato products producer. Analyst Bryan Spillane says the company is well-positioned to return to pre-pandemic business levels as food service distributors and casual dining restaurants fully rebound. Spillane says Lamb Weston deserves to trade at a premium valuation to its peers due to its superior sales growth and margin expansion opportunities. Spillane says fiscal fourth-quarter earnings will likely remain depressed thanks to lingering pandemic effects. However, third-quarter channel checks on pricing and capacity utilization could be bullish catalysts. Bank of America has a "buy" rating and a $100 price target for LW stock.

Goodbye, inflation scare. Hello, growth fears. A topsy-turvy week for the stock market is accompanied by a change in the market narrative --- should investors believe it?

I think you can have both. The virus can slow down growth. Chip shortages will slow down growth. Shipping bottlenecks and infrastructure break downs of the grid etc. Will slow down growth. Higher taxes will slow down growth...

My ferry boat that goes to fire Island. They raised the price of each ticket quite a bit but what really goads me is the freight which they have taken from $2 a bag to $4. DO YOU THINK THAT " INFLATION " IS GOING AWAY ANYTIME SOON... No! folks have shown a willingness to pay and that's it... there's no going back.

$30 lobster rolls in the Hamptons and even more on Cape Cod. These idiots are willing to pay and so they shall forever more. Will Lobster rolls ever go back to $17. You tell me.

Someone we know wanted to do a foundation concrete would you guess how much... I want to double check my facts because I was a little drunk when I heard them-- But I want to say $30,000<---- For a foundation!!!!

  5. Sunday and I have long day with a hairdryer and an extension cord. How am I going to get back in my wife's good graces? She used this total accident as some sort of definition of me. All the college research for my son I have not done--> It's depressing. Jesus my email to BU was like--

" hey have you seen the new CDC rules? Do you anticipate forcing students to wear masks in school and dorms? " BU is very strict. If we visit we have to mask up and can only go into one building and my wife is after me to take a trip to Boston. Oh god I don't want to.

Down South they are easier... I really like a school called College Of Charleston. If anyone here has any knowledge please drop it.

Fave Big School: U of Miami & BU
    Fave Other: College of Charleston

Thinking about University of Rhode Island.

A school that does not have a marine Bio major-- which my son is leaning towards-- is Elon which looks interesting as well.

That's my list!!! I'll throw on StoneyBrook because it's local and State (less expensive) & they have a good Marine bio program ( very close to fire island)

Fla? I'm torn. It is a relatively short plane ride and the weather is great.
I think I want the ability to DRIVE and GET my Son if there is a Covid break out. A lot of these colleges talk about what happens if you get a fever or chill the isolation and testing and quarantines.... 14 days How do they get home? Say you do test for Covid can you fly?

I guess you can drive to Florida if you had to.

I will not pay for him to have to wear a mask.

  7. janes-- sorry it's taken me a few days to get to this:

Matterport within 1 month of trading with it's own name!

Matterport, jumped 15% in June after announcing some key partnerships.

The biggest was a partnership with Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) to use artificial intelligence (AI) and a data set from 3D spaces in academic research. Potentially more important in the long term was a program that allows developers and partners to build apps and integrations for Matterport.

Investors are still speculating on Matterport through the SPAC stock because the merger hasn't officially happened yet. But there haven't been any roadblocks, and management expects the merger to happen within about a month.

A "dollhouse" view of a house by Matterport.

    So what
The deal with Facebook will put Matterport's spatial data in the hands of academic researchers working with Facebook AI Research. The data set is called the Habitat-Matterport 3D Research Data Set (HM3D) and will be free to researchers in hopes of developing AI and 3D computer-vision technology.

If researchers succeed in creating valuable tools with this data, they could build products and software using Matterport's offerings. For example, spatial data from a home or business could be uploaded to a robot, which could immediately sense where it is in the space and where it can go to perform tasks. Previously, this data would need to be collected natively on the device. A robot! Ahhhhh No.

Matterport is trying to get developers to build an ecosystem based on the company's data, which could be add-ons to a Matterport subscription. <--Smart

    Now what
Matterport is trying to build a platform of valuable tools with its spatial-data platform, and these moves are a step in the right direction. After growing revenue 108% to $27 million in the first quarter of 2021, the company has a lot of momentum. And with smartphone apps now able to capture spaces, it's making this process ubiquitous.

Sort of... we are waiting for LIDAR to be built into the next Apple i phone for the stk to double!
So yes-- Still like this idea which was Van's-- and has won me over despite going down.

    Adding To watch list!

i have a bunch of these kooky biotech speculations (xair, iova, lrmr) and they all went up 3%-5% Friday. I sold Iova friday, figured i'd sell into some strength. also saw cathie wood sold some of her iova, but it was a tiny percentage of her holdings i think.
