  1. Headlines have a way in retrospect of signaling where the market is at. Newsweek had a famous one in the old days right before the crash ion the 80's I forget what it said but basically it was Everything Is Perfect!

    Today's Headline:

Legendary Value Manager Charles de Vaulx Found Dead

    Updated April 28, 2021 12:38 pm ET /

Charles de Vaulx, a renowned value investor and co-founder of International Value Advisors, died suddenly Monday afternoon, leaving the asset management industry in shock. It was an apparent suicide, according to the New York Police Department.

De Vaulx, 59, had built a long career as a risk-aware global investor who never deviated from his deep-value approach, even when it meant keeping as much as 40% of his funds in cash because he couldn’t find attractive investments during a 13-year stretch in which the markets favored...

We are left asking.... HAS VALUE BOTTOMED and is now the time for Value.... or has Charles somehow left his core values and is this tied in any way to Archepegio... That family fund that blew up with excess leverage...

  2. Travel + Leisure price target raised to $78 from $69 at Deutsche Bank 07:06 TNL Deutsche Bank analyst Chris Woronka raised the firm's price target on Travel + Leisure to $78 from $69 and keeps a Buy rating on the shares. The analyst believes Travel + Leisure remains in a "relative sweet spot" as its valuation "appears still reasonable and the fundamental story continues to get better."

We came within a whisker of buying this a month ago... It has a very hard symbol to remember and thus I often forget to check... TNL I don't get it... Travel N' Leisure.... like Salt N' Pepper?

I don't think we have missed this about a month ago the stk was trading at $62.50 or so....

I think this will be my buy today...

  8. My kid took his SAT's yesterday. Funny how the pressure has come off that since i was a kid...
With the negative view in place for standardized testing combined with the Pandemic, really the pressure is off these kids and that's good.I just wish my son hadn't asked me as he left that day 'Hey Dad what did you get on your SAT's?'

That was a much more difficult time to take SAT's son, lots of pressure...

  9. Olin: Huge Beat And Raise -
    • OLN reported a big beat for the quarter and guided up significantly both for earnings, free cash and debt paydown.
    • OLN is in the early stages of a massive cycle with demand exceeding supply and the imbalance unlikely to abate for years.
    • Leverage has been a concern and a major bear point for the past year; this concern is no longer an issue.

AerCap named a Best Idea at Stephens 07:53 AER, LPRO, GE Stephens analyst Vincent Caintic is changing his 2021 Best Idea to AerCap (AER) from Open Lending (LPRO) following the former's Q1 earnings report, which has made him more confident in his forecast for about $100 per share embedded book value by end of 2022. Even without the GECAS (GE) acquisition, a fundamental improvement in aircraft leasing should continue to drive earnings upside, argues Caintic. He keeps an Overweight rating and $88 price target on AerCap shares.

That UFO speeding away from us was just about to enter it's portal when word got out that their robot dog has been rejected by NYC police and the contract NOT renewed. The people have spoken and the people have said-- That's freaky No Way!!! Robots stay in the Far East!!!

And that Domino Pizza being delivered in the robot car-- You have to order 2 pizzas and how many will recover from that? How many robot pizza-delivering cars will be knocked over en rout' and their pizzas stolen?

Huge set back for Robot culture.

    Cue The Commercial!!!

  10. eBay’s shares slumped over 6% in extended trading on Wednesday after the eCommerce leader for physical and digital merchandise forecast earnings less than what Wall Street had expected for the second quarter of 2021.

The San Jose, California-based company forecasts diluted non-GAAP earnings per share (EPS) in the range of $0.91 – $0.96 for the current quarter, below Wall Street’s consensus estimates of $1.02 per share. The company’s revenue is expected to be in the range of $2.98 – $3.03.

    ugh.

Downgrades everywhere.... we have one hope left--- 2022

“2022 EPS of $7.15 potential with brining payments in-house so 14x $7.15 is almost 70% 12-month upside potential. But again, the focus won’t be next year when the company’s talking about headwinds in growth rates this year.”
