At Imperial College’s carbon capture pilot plant, ABB aims to equip today’s students with the skills needed to run tomorrow’s industrial processes. The only facility of its kind in an academic institution in the world, the pilot plant shows students how the latest technologies can help to optimise plant performance and safely manage emergency situations in real-life applications.
Bringing the most advanced control and instrumentation technology into the classroom
The agreement between ABB and Imperial College gives the university access to the most advanced control and instrumentation technology available from any manufacturer, as well as life cycle services and support for the installation.

In return, ABB has access to the carbon capture pilot plant for its own use and will use the facility for customer demonstrations and training, staff learning such as inter-divisional training and hands on experience for its apprentices and graduate engineers.

The increasingly global nature of the projects that ABB are involved with, particularly in the oil, gas and petrochemical sectors, means that engineers from the UK and elsewhere are being called on to work in many different regions worldwide. The aim is to use the plant to create a lasting association between the real-life problems that students will encounter once they qualify and the technology and capabilities available from ABB that can help solve them.

  3. ABB Nice! They maybe involved but there is a particular tech this guy was talking about some sort of breakthrough because the cost is not working on this whole idea... wonder who that company is..

    2/ Palantir
Palantir’s (PLTR) may have peaked at $45. At below $25, the stock still commands a nearly $42 billion market capitalization. ARK Invest’s recent buying of3.4 million PLTR shareswill sustain the 45.5 times price-to-sales ratio for now. But insider selling may be too much for the fund to support.

Electric vehicle stock sell-off called 'massive' buying opportunity
Mar. 04, 2021 8:34 AM ETGeneral Motors Company (GM)
    • Wedbush Securities tackles the question on if the parabolic run in the share prices of electric vehicles stock is over.
    • Analyst Dan Ives: "Our answer is emphatically that the EV party and transformation is just beginning as this industry is on the cusp of a $5 trillion market opportunity over the next decade. With GM(NYSE:GM), Ford(NYSE:F), and now Volvo(OTCPK:VOLAF) all jumping into the deep end of the pool on EVs it speaks to the massive pent up demand globally around EV technology on the horizon."

  4. There is a guy I really respect. He wears glasses. i think he's from JP Morgan. I feel terrible I cannot bring his name up. He's very unassuming, short looks up through his glasses and has been very right about the stock market for a number of years. Tom... Tom someone I've always come away from hearing this guy on TV saying " he knows what he is talking about. " Often when the market is crashing he has been a calming force.

I was surprised he was quite down on big tech. He was all in on the trend to cyclical.

Stoney.... I'm gonna let you in on a little secret.

You run the stock up to a level and you get all your friends on CNBC to talk about it.
When its at or near that elevated level, you sell a ton of calls at ridiculous prices.

You then drive the price down by shorting the stock, and take it to the other extreme. Say $24 in this case. What happens then? You sell a ton of puts at ridiculous prices.

Next, you bring the stock back up to the halfway point and flatline it by controling the bid/ask. When you are sitting on millions of shares and hundreds of millions of dollars, you can do that.

So it flatlines basically into opex. All the options expire worthless.

    Rinse wash repeat.

I way over-simplified it, but that's exactly what's going on.

Its the gamification of high vis stocks Stoney.
