  1. MP Materials Stock is Chamath Palihapitiya's first big renewable energy bet.

I think. Not sure. Chmath is that guy that thinks he's so smart because he bought Bitcoin. He is starting a bunch of SPAC's and appears somewhat dangerous.

  5. Regarding ABB- It's a robot company!

    #6. ABB (NYSE:ABB)

    Revenue: $28 billion

Now I did run into some anti-Robot folks when we invested in TER and I listened and got out and it went up alot. So for those ant robot types-- It's Happening! Robot arms are taking over whether you like it or not. i was soft and listened to your moaning about the jobless rate and all of that.

Other ABB notes- They had a carbon senesor on the last SpaceX flight!

  6. tracking the quick stuff is making me too jumpy.--

janes I never look at my portfolio. I don't even open the enveloped that come home I could be the victim of Bernie Maddoff and not know it! This started out as a bad habit but I turned into my benefit, when I realize that not looking at the market at all helps me invest. I have days that I'm so far into the research and so buried in the endless facts & rumors that I totally miss that the Naz is down huge. And I buy my stock, sit back turn around se the TV and freak out!

About 3 times a year I get all revved up, angry and aggressive and open a portfolio and draw lines through what's not working then I tactically insert my stocks into the Hedge Fund's portfolio they have made for me. So I increase my Alpha in a consistent way while trimming my poor performers. In general everything needs 3 months to prove itself.

And in a best case scenario every buy you make you have tracked for 2 weeks before hand.

Another trick-- Consider yourself a swing trader not a day trader. I don't like to generate tons of paper work and I don't like shaving little tiny scalps... If I wanted to I could do that all day long. It's boring. Yes you make money but you feel dirty and at the end of the day you own nothing and have no skin in the game. Some folks feel smarter that way... They want to go home even with nothing on the line... those guys never make any real money.

Consider each stock a flower. In that they have stages of growth. They are very smart people who probably can tell where the flower is going to grow perhaps they were given " bulbs " in advance and they are adept at spotting the very first bloom of the plant. When the crocus just pops it's head out of the frozen earth. Then there's this nice little middle session when the stalks grow but no bud appears you still don't know the color or shape of the plant you just know it's going to be tall-- This is where I like to invest at the 1/3 mark... Then when that Bloom Opens and everyone revels in the beauty and function of that plant you are already in and you take that plant to the 3/4 mark and past.... Then I tend to get off and let someone else take on the approaching winter. ~si

  7. Lets take a look togther at VWAGY.

    A) I have not bought.

    B) I like.

    C) I started tracking at approx $21... maybe $20.50

    D) It's now only $23.70.

It is a slow mover but almost every thime I have checked it has been up.

I have watched it for basically a month.

The chart is starting to look up.

Nov 18th 2019 and the stk is $18 bucks!!!! That's a LONG time ago...

Nov 23rd 2020 at the stk is $19 bucks....

You can call that flat line... But i would argue coiled spring....

Dec 21st $20.83 we are talking about it every day and basically left $3 on the table but in the BIG picture... we are still in the game.

VWAGY is a Buy and should be bought. I have to figure out a way...

Why Youdao Stock Was Gaining Today
A blowout earnings report lifted shares of the Chinese online school.

    Feb 25, 2021 at 2:37PM

    What happened

Shares of Youdao (NYSE:DAO), a Chinese online education specialist, were rising on Thursday after the company delivered better-than-expected results in its fourth-quarter earnings report.

As of 1:41 p.m. EST today, the stock was up 9.6% even as tech stocks were broadly crashing.

Van Look at this Kid! Cute! He needs a translation pen!

    So what
Youdao operates in the fast-growing online education segment and has enjoyed tailwinds from the pandemic over the last year, which has driven a shift to online learning in China and elsewhere.

Those effects were on display in the latest report as revenue skyrocketed 170% to $169.6 million, ahead of estimates at $161.6 million. Gross billings more than tripled in the quarter, and gross billings of premium products were up nearly 270%, indicating that its highest-margin products are its most successful.

K-12 enrollments increased 309% over the last year to 659,000, showing the shift to childhood online learning.

While the company continued to operate at a loss, it saw a sharp increase in gross margin from 29.8% to 47.5% as it benefited from economies of scale and the optimization of its teacher compensation structure. But the company ramped up spending on sales and marketing to take advantage of the opportunity from the pandemic, and it finished with an operating loss of $69.4 million. That was wider than the year before, but its operating-loss margin narrowed from 49.7% to 40.9%. On the bottom line, it reported an adjusted per-share loss of $0.58, better than expectations for a loss of $0.70 per share.

CEO Feng Zhou said: "2020 was a banner year for Youdao. We made great financial and operational strides across our business, closing the year with excellent top-line growth and positive operating cash flow in Q1, Q2, and Q4."

    Now what
Management didn't provide guidance in the press release, but Zhou noted that retention is strong and said that the company plans a number of upgrades to its products and the business this year. Those sound like positives for 2021, though the growth rate is likely to moderate.

While the stock looks cheap, investors should be aware that the industry is highly competitive, and at least two Chinese online schools have been accused of fraud. The stock is risky, but with triple-digit top-line growth, the upside looks greater than the downside.
