So that lawsuit had to do with the super expensive cameras... and these cameras are still used by all the RE firms but the reason why things are interesting now and I think we have missed the picture here is now all of this stale tech is on an app for iphone users. So they can film horrible looking blurry walk troughs themselves on their phones and then upload and have Maplethorp host it or whatever they pretend to do for $10.<--- So the market now is huge now. It's an app. I see the SCAM... now VAN.... I get it... YOU GOT ME! But where is this going...I would look into a little known company I believe these guys bought.. 99% sure-- Matterport CEO RJ Pittman | Credit: Matterport- young dumb and fun! “Arraiy has assembled some of the very best minds in the industry to solve really hard problems in machine learning and computer vision today,” Pittman also said.<--- Financial details of the acquisition were not publicly disclosed. It was also not immediately clear if Arraiy would continue to operate independently in some capacity, or if the brand itself would be absorbed into Matterport.<---- Arraiy is based in Mountain View, California and describes itself as using “computer vision to unlock the next generation of visual storytelling.” More specifically, the company uses machine learning to construct virtual environments and augmented reality. Arraiy’s technology can also interface with more traditional tools, such as green screens, that have long been used to create visual effects. The company says that its technology has been used in sports broadcasts, television production and gaming, among other industries. And that means the newly announced acquisition could give Matterport a foot in the door of a number of new sectors. DID I HEAR GAMING!!! VIRTUAL BLACKJACK!!!! In the recent past, Matterport has been aggressively pursuing growth by, perhaps most significantly, offering low-cost 3D tour products. Customers using those products can now shoot spaces with consumer grade cameras, then have Matterport host the resulting 3D images for as little as $10 per month. The company also offers a free version of the service, though images hosted at that price tier can’t be publicly embedded on other sites. The move to consumer-friendly pricing marks an abrupt shift for Matterport, which previously focused on high-end cameras that cost thousands of dollars, as well as a subscription model in which the cheapest plan was $50 per month. An Image360 camera, which costs about $400 and is now supported by Matterport | At the same time, however, the interactive imaging space has grown more crowded. The Arraiy acquisition. What will that lead to.....
I bought my first high-end mask. Yup Balmain. It has a big B on the front. I think it was $80. I was drunk the other night. I also got a t shirt with horses on it and holes all over. The holes make it cool. Spontaneous Internet Purchases... the beginning of the roaring (Kitty) 20's recovery! So as I go walk the dog now I'm in with the new cool crowd. I Am Balmain.
Stoney.... Here's the deal in a nutshell. Right now we are experiencing extraordinary times. For the right people, it's money for nothing. "Quick, lets launch a SPAC". You're always pulling for the kids on the street, but sometimes I question your streetsmarts; in the real world at least. Which happens to be where we live. A street kid would not fall for this. As much as you hate to admit it, you grew up white and relatively privileged. You may be an adventurer, but you've never been truly poor. Nor have I really. But that gives one insights. See... there's a million smart cats out there... but what they know. anyone that was blessed with a strong degree of intelligence can learn... but those same cats.... there's certain things they can never learn. The human experience is complicated, nature vs. nurture. And then some. In a big way. All these SPAC's are bs. The rich are getting richer bro. It's an epic transfer of wealth. No one's talking about it yet. But I am, right here. Right now. They're all bs. They're all paper tigers. Just know that. And also know.... as much as I hate to be trite.... everyone truly is a genius in a market like this. Its not hard to find a half dozen stocks with 20%+ moves every pre-market. Its not. But its a moment in time Stoney. A moment in time. Never forget my friend... water always seeks its level. Sooo... let the good times roll. As SPAC's go, GHVI (soon to be MTTR).... is in fact one of the better ones. But even at that, is it worth the paper it's written on? No. What have I said a million times before? Buy value. Time will prove me right, but that said.... lets all roll the dice.... and lets all make absurd percentages buying whatever CNBC, or Reddit or whoever chooses to pontificate. But don't be fooled Stoney. Find more 'gummies for grandma' stocks.... ... you'll go down in investing history. Regarding anything less than 2 years old market-wise... they all suck, and they're all overpriced. Take note my brother... "Water always seeks its level". You can bank on it. -vz
Hey stoney, finally got a chance to read a little about this and thanks for pointing it out...hadn't seen it and will add it to the bioplastics list. Pretty much Origin Materials is making bioplastic PET water bottles out of wood/wood chips. Partnership with Pepsi, etc. One thing I'm learning about reading on bioplastics is a lot of what differentiates the companies is extremely technical and I'm still trying to figure it out. A degree in science would help. Unlike DNMR, this plastic I don't think is marine biodegradable, but this one might be more cost efficient and immediately marketable. I think what some investors might not be realizing--esp those piling into DNMR--is bioplastics is super complicated and there's no magic wand. There seems right now to be a lot of half steps which are better than no steps for sure. This stuff still produces carbon emissions. We don't have composting infrastructure in place. Can our current recycling infrastructure really handle this stuff. I can't say which has better technology, DNMR or Origin. Origin's arrival might be some of what has DNMR stock price dropping. I imagine Origin Materials stock will rise nicely as long as investors are feeling buoyant about the magic of bioplastics...though I'd be surprised if either sees DNMR's high of 64 anytime soon. Who knows I guess. But Van is right that a lot this is a bubble but also there's still short term money in investing in spacs like this, so this isn't a bad one.
I have awoken with a very clear vision. Carbon. Getting the atmosphere right. Saving this earth. Freakin' Maplethorp with his 3D whatever Van is right it's just some SPAC of the moment small fries in the big picture. There is a company in Main called Running Water ( I think ) Running Something. Private financing is buzzing and Shopify (very cool company) is poking around-- these guys have developed a supremely elegant solution to Co2. Kelp. Lots of it -! Lining the sea floor in kelp will solve everything. They are doing tests now but the thesis it has been looked at and it could save the earth. SPAC in the future??? I dunno but Shopify is going to buy the first Carbon credits derived from this technique and here again those carbon credits... Way back in the day I invested in a Norwegian I think company deff overseas and it was setting up this grand market place for carbon to be sold the ability to go over your amount could be purchased. Gosh I Lost a tremendous amount on that. Failed horribly, but some form of that trading is going on now- WE WANT A PIECE OF THAT... Got to figure that angle out. Reading the NY Times about new companies in the bath and a bunch of these chat start ups and they all have the Zoom 3.0 functions 3D living rooms and everyone appears to be in the same place even though they are not... in short That Marrospot tech it's just everywhere it's not special.
Its not hard to find a half dozen stocks with 20%+ moves every pre-market. Its not. I don't find 20% moves and I don't even scan the pre market. I have ditched all those junior tools and developed my own system based alot on relative strength but also on momentum; people who follow my picks always say the same thing " Your ideas give us a chance to get in, they always open slow and breath around 10:30 THEN for some reason when others go back down they take off and finish at the highs of the day " Don't foreget I buy everything so I would be dead broke if I bought up 20% ideas nor would the hedge fund even let me!
What have I said a million times before? Buy value. Time will prove me right, but that said.... lets all roll the dice.... and lets all make absurd percentages buying whatever CNBC, or Reddit or whoever chooses to pontificate. I was big into reversion theory myself.. Had to give that up. When the Hedgies all buy the same stupid stocks it ruins these theories. These days: Buy Brand- Look at Lovesac! Buy Low Debt<--- This is the big overlooked metric now as interest rates WILL eventually go up. I feel stronger about that than value stocks.
janes there was a news story in the Times about annies Mac and Cheese Owned by a huge company... and they had detected some harmful chemicals in their food but it was getting in along the manufacturing process somewhere so they have been tracing (Kraft I think) they have been really trying to change the whole line of suppliers ( is it in the tubes that carry the milk? ) it's complex stuff but just when they are getting to the crux of the matter guess who pops up? Exxon Mobile. They are behind one of the plastics or substances in a shady way and then when they go on the attack... it just shows what some of these alternative packaging companies are going up against.
i'll take a look at the article...plastic stuff just fills me with rage that i plan on funneling into further research. also as soon as we use up our traditional plastic trash bags and breakroom supplies, i am going to move all GBA office plastics to bio-based plastics.
