$10 a month for 5 tours,,,, for worst or 2nd worst image quality but good transitions.... For $10 a month wouldn't someone do porno? I've never given $10 a month to anyone on the internet but if I did... it would not be to Home Tours!
There's a whole resale market here in home looks--Cloudpano charges one time fee of $800 and then you can charge people whatever forever!!! This is kind of a scam I'm liking it more now Van. I can charge people myself for tours of fabulous gardens that I put on Cloudpano... Hummmm Once again this comes back to NOT TRAVELNG and taking fake vacations!!! I know we have serial house shoppers, these Open House ladies I don't think we can count on them for their $10..every house but middle market You tubers can also offer these tours, maybe they can group buy and offer them cheaper... I'm understanding this a little better now. But what of the Great Gardens of Italy! Or Caribbean Secrete Treasures-- luxury homes -- You'll never go to Italy and you'll never afford a house in the caribbean but for just $10 you can look. Voyeuristic this all is.
EDIT: ok I didn't read your above post when I posted this. You're coming around. Good. Stoney, You're thinking like a peasant. Like a serf. Just because there exists multiple players in a niche.... that means absolutely nothing. Every nascent market has that. Here: Its about the TAM. And its about who gets the most pie. Real-estate is only one small piece. If there's one thing the tech VC's do well, they create a market where previously, there was none. "If you build it they will come". These guys have deep pockets now, with lots of brainpower, and lots of connections. They will be the leader. Its as simple as that.
I'm coming around Van -- Virtual Tourism.... a whole new sector. Imagine this you are out on a whale boat but it's not cold. There's no tourist next to you it's just you... and then suddenly WHALE! and a whale almost comes out of the water but stops. Time for $10! Please Insert token.... When I was a kid there was a place in times square I went to... scary place. There was a room with a dancing girl taking her clothes off and around that room in a circle was a bunch of windows and in front of you a coin operated machine. It took quarters I believe... And just when that top came off SLAM went the window!!!! -- You never saw a guy scramble for change like that before... And here we are SO MANY years later and isn't this the same thing?
The pie chart))) Just regarding the building/ architecture angle that's all BS. My step dad was an architect and twenty years ago they had this tech from Adobe it was a CAD system for architects - 3D modelling. Insure is BS you just take a video cam when you need to to insure stuff or an iphone movie. that's BS Hospitality just means Hotel rooms but I'll buy it.. sort of. When I go to Trip Advisor the pics are enough I don't need a virtual tour... but I could see TA adding the feature! Or Expedia. It's the promote section of the pie tied into Travel... That's where I see this business going...
Con's IR sensors doesn't allow for shooting in direct sunlight as the camera is optimized for interior shooting only. Windows without shades or blinds may display as overexposed. Due to camera design and lens placement some parallax will occur generally closer to the camera resulting in broken edges or lines. Unable to edit individual images. Because every scan is tethered to the one before it camera reflections may show on mirrors and glass. Removing scans directly in front of a refection can be done afterwards however the flow of the walkthrough may be disjointed or difficult to navigate. Limit to approx.10,000 sf on floor plans. Cannot include detached garage, work shed or Casita into single model - these would require separate model. Takes time - up to 1.5 hr per 1,000 sq ft Electrical interference may cause connection issues. Proprietary hosting - only Matterport can host the models which comes at a cost that must be built into pricing. A great deal of experience is needed for creating optimal results. Viewing or displaying models may be an issue with larger models when using older devices.
Matterport’s 3D Camera Business Opportunity In June 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Matterport, Inc. and seven of its business directors for allegedly falsely advertising Matterport 3D – a photography and scanning business — as a lucrative business opportunity. Among other things, the complaint claims that Matterport: falsely represents, through its sales representatives, that buyers will receive marketing materials and business leads in their geographic area that will pay for a buyer’s initial investment in six months when, according to plaintiffs, it is difficult for buyers to profit from the business opportunity because the market for 3D scanning is saturated and there are few leads to new business; misleadingly markets that its 3D cameras and other equipment are easy to use when, according to plaintiffs, the equipment requires a certain amount of technical expertise to use; and misleadingly represents that it provides buyers with training and resources when, according to plaintiffs, the company provides little to no technical support.
