The Diary Of A Snow Shoveler
    September 24, 2018

This hilarious story was written by someone who's clearly had to shovel way too much snow in his lifetime. If you've ever lived in place where it snows, you will die laughing.

    December 8 - 6:00 PM

    It started to snow.
The first snow of the season and the wife and I took our cocktails and sat for hours by the window watching the huge soft flakes drift down from heaven.
It looked like a Grandma Moses Print.
So romantic we felt like newlyweds again.

    I love snow!

    December 9

We woke to a beautiful blanket of crystal white snow covering every inch of the landscape.
    What a fantastic sight!
Can there be a lovelier place in the whole world?
Moving here was the best idea I've ever had!
Shoveled for the first time in years and felt like a boy again.
I did both our driveway and the sidewalks.
This afternoon the snowplow came along and covered up the sidewalks and closed in the driveway, so I got to shovel again.

    What a perfect life!

    December 12

The sun has melted all our lovely snow.
    Such a disappointment!
My neighbor tells me not to worry- we'll definitely have a white Christmas.
No snow on Christmas would be awful!
John says we'll have so much snow by the end of winter, that I'll never want to see snow again. I don't think that's possible.

John is such a nice man, I'm glad he's our neighbor.

    December 14

Snow, lovely snow! 8 inches last night.
    The temperature dropped to -20.
The cold makes everything sparkle so.
The wind took my breath away, but I warmed up by shoveling the driveway and sidewalks.
    This is the life!
The snowplow came back this afternoon and buried everything again.
I didn't realize I would have to do quite this much shoveling, but I'll certainly get back in shape this way.

I wish l wouldn't huff and puff so.

    December 15

    20 inches forecast.
Sold my van and bought a 4x4 Blazer.
Bought snow tires for the wife's car and 2 extra shovels.
    Stocked the freezer.
The wife wants a wood stove in case the electricity goes out.
    I think that's silly

We aren't in Alaska, after all.

    December 16

    Ice storm this morning.
Fell on my ass on the ice in the driveway putting down salt.
    Hurt like hell.
The wife laughed for an hour, which I think was very cruel.

    December 17

    Still way below freezing.
Roads are too icy to go anywhere.
Electricity was off for 5 hours.
I had to pile the blankets on to stay warm.
Nothing to do but stare at the wife and try not to irritate her.
Guess I should've bought a wood stove, but won't admit it to her.
God I hate it when she's right.

I can't believe I'm freezing to death in my own living room.

    December 20

Electricity's back on, but had another 14 inches of the damn stuff last night.
    More shoveling!
    Took all day.
The damn snowplow came by twice.
Tried to find a neighbor kid to shovel, but they said they're too busy playing hockey.
    I think they're lying.
Called the only hardware store around to see about buying a snow blower and they're out.
Might have another shipment in March.
    I think they're lying.
John says I have to shovel or the city will have it done and bill me.

    I think he's lying.

    December 22

John was right about a white Christmas because 13 more inches of the white sh-t fell today, and it's so cold, it probably won't melt till August.
Took me 45 minutes to get all dressed up to go out to shovel and then I had to go pee.
By the time I got undressed, went to the bathroom and dressed again, I was too tired to shovel.
Tried to hire John who has a plow on his truck for the rest of the winter, but he says he's too busy.

I think the a--hole is lying.

    December 23

Only 2 inches of snow today
And it warmed up to 0.
The wife wanted me to decorate the front of the house this morning.
    What is she, nuts?!!
Why didn't she tell me to do that a month ago?

She says she did but I think she's lying.

    December 24

6 inches - Snow packed so hard by snowplow, l broke the shovel.
Thought I was having a heart attack.
If I ever catch the son of a b-tch who drives that snow plow, I'll drag him through the snow and beat him to death with my broken shovel.
I know he hides around the corner and waits for me to finish shoveling and then he comes down the street at a 100 miles an hour and throws snow all over where I've just been!

Tonight the wife wanted me to sing Christmas carols with her and open our presents, but I was too busy watching for the damn snowplow.

    December 25

    Merry freaking Christmas!
20 more inches of the damn slop tonight -Snowed in.
The idea of shoveling makes my blood boil.
    God, I hate the snow!
Then the snowplow driver came by asking for a donation and I hit him over the head with my shovel.
The wife says I have a bad attitude.
    I think she's an idiot.

If I have to watch "It's A Wonderful Life" one more time, I'm going to stuff her into the microwave.

    December 26

    Still snowed in.
Why the hell did I ever move here?
    It was all HER idea.
She's really getting on my nerves.

    December 27

Temperature dropped to -30 and the pipes froze; plumber came after 14 hours of waiting for him, he only charged me $1,400 to replace all my pipes.

    December 28

    Warmed up to above -20.
    Still snowed in.

My wife is driving me crazy!!!

    December 29

    10 more inches.
John says I have to shovel the roof or it could cave in.

That's the silliest thing I ever heard. How dumb does he think I am?

    December 30

    Roof caved in.
I beat up the snow plow driver, and now he is suing me for a million dollars.
The wife went home to her mother.

    Nine more inches predicted.

    December 31

I set fire to what's left of the house.
    No more shoveling.

    January 8

    Feel so good.
I just love those little white pills they keep giving me.
Why am I tied to the bed?

  9. Good Morning. The snow has stopped. I can now go uncover the two cars. Tonight the snow comes again. Then this weekend more trouble. I plan to leave sometime around sat sun mon.

I would like to gather the portfolio names together and try to simplify this. I feel a correction is coming soon. Right now my indicators say early April... But I feel it will be a bit earlier than that. Last time we had a valuation correction warning we hit it to the exact day. This time it may be more of a sentiment correction, it is tough to draw value distinctions with everything in flux.

RED ROCK! -- We are getting some love.
Red Rock Resorts price target raised to $30 from $27 at Macquarie 06:36 RRR Macquarie analyst Chad Beynon raised the firm's price target on Red Rock Resorts to $30 from $27 and keeps an Outperform rating on the shares. The company put up "another impressive quarter," Beynon tells investors in a research note. The analyst says that given strong population growth, stable housing prices and supply restrictions, he continues to favor investing in the Las Vegas locals market.

No tourists! This is where real Vegas folks go to gamble and hang out!

  10. -Gamida Cell price target raised to $27 from $15 at H.C. Wainwright 06:47 GMDA H.C. Wainwright analyst Vernon Bernardino raised the firm's price target on Gamida Cell to $27 from $15 and reiterates a Buy rating on the shares after the company made an oral presentation of full efficacy and safety results from the Phase 3 clinical trial with its lead product candidate, omidubicel. The analyst is positive on the full results and believes omidubicel "could be transformative" in a real world setting in bone marrow transplant procedures. He made Gamida Cell stock a "Top Pick for 2021."

---> I will try and explain what makes some upgrades more important than others....

Ok often an analyst will have missed a move terribly say they have a PT of $10 and the stock is already trading for $19... so then they come out screaming new Price target $22 fro $10. I throw those out.

Sometimes the analyst will just gently raise a PT a couple dollars and keep a rating, I like those better. Red Rock For Example.... in those case the stock's price will be near the escalating Price Target raise and a certain stair step order can be expected. Red Rock Trades for about $28 so just right at the old target and a gentle raise is the norm.

But the best ones are when the price is no where near the target. Take Gamida. I don't know them so warning there... But GMDA costs $10 the price targe WAS $15 healthy and it has been changed to $27... not $22...$27.

Ok the reason for upgrade usually earnings or event driven and in this case it is event driven and the best kind of event-- a corporate analyst update*** This is when a co might say something you haven't heard before-- forward looking... So we had an oral presentation and a drug called omidubicel that can be used for bone marrow transplants.

--- Everything checks here except--> what is the target population? How many bone marrow transplants each year--> In 2018, 4,837 unrelated bone marrowand cord bloodtransplantswereperformed in the United States.Apr 6, 2020

--- Not the largest population but we still care if it is a real need--> Those that need the transplant might have Leukemia<--

    • This year, more than 130,000 Americans will be diagnosed with a serious blood disease.
    • Leukemia (a blood cancer) will strike 44,000 Americans this year, including 3,500 children. It will kill about half of the adults and about 700 of the children.
    • Leukemia is the most common childhood cancer.
    • Only 30 percent of patients who need a bone marrow transplant have a matching donor in their families.
    • The remaining 70 percent must hope that a compatible stranger can be found using the national registry.
    • At any given time, about 7,500 Americans are actively searching the national registry for an unrelated donor.
    • Only 2 percent of population is on the national registry.
    • A significant number of those on the national bone marrow registry cannot be located or will not donate when asked to do so. The percentages of donors who are available and willing are: 65 for Caucasians; 47 percent for Hispanics; 44 percent for Asians; 34 percent for African-Americans.
    • African-American patients find an unrelated donor 25 percent of the time.
    • Asian patients find a donor about 40 percent of the time.
    • Hispanic patients find a donor about 45 percent of the time.
    • Caucasian patients find a donor about 75 percent of the time.
    • Multi-racial people face the worst odds.
    • At least 3,000 people die each year because they cannot find a matching donor.
    • If an African-American finds a match on the registry, there is an 80 percent chance that the identified donor is the only match on the registry.

This clinical data set was from the international, multi-center, randomized Phase 3 study of omidubicel that was designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of omidubicel in patients with high-risk hematologic malignancies undergoing a bone marrow transplant compared to a comparator group of patients who received a standard umbilical cord blood transplant. This is the first presentation of these data in a peer-reviewed conference." Mitchell Horwitz, M.D., principal investigator and professor of medicine at the Duke Cancer Institute, stated: "The results of this global Phase 3 study of omidubicel in patients with hematologic malignancies show that omidubicel resulted in faster hematopoietic recovery, fewer bacterial and viral infections and fewer days in hospital, all of which are meaningful results and represent potentially important advancements in care when considering the patient experience following transplant," said "The comparator, a transplant with umbilical cord blood, has been historically shown to result in low incidence of graft versus host disease in relation to other graft sources, and in this study, omidubicel demonstrated a GvHD profile similar to the comparator. Moreover, previous studies have shown that engraftment with omidubicel is durable, with some patients in the Phase 1/2 study receiving their transplant more than 10 years ago. The data presented at this meeting indicate that omidubicel has the potential to be considered a new standard of care for patients who are in need of stem cell transplantation but do not have access to a matched donor."

re: At least 3,000 people die each year because they cannot find a matching donor.

This is a close call and I have no cash at the ready but GMDA is the gummy of the day!
