  1. Interesting...

Wolfe upgrades Lordstown Motors to Peer Perform, says 'narrative has changed' 07:36 RIDE As previously reported, Wolfe Research analyst Rod Lache upgraded Lordstown Motors to Peer Perform from Underperform with a price target of $27, up from $14. When he had launched coverage of the stock with an Underperform rating, Lache's biggest concern was that Lordstown's business plan was highly dependent on the success of a single model, but the "narrative has changed" as commercial demand for electric pickups appears to be larger than he'd anticipated while Lordstown's business plan appears to be adapting, the analyst tells investors. Lache also calls it out as "noteworthy" that Lordstown has now been added to the U.S. General Services Administration listing, allowing them to sell to government entities, at a time when President Biden said he plans to replace the government's 650,000 unit fleet with EVs.

  2. 8x8 price target raised to $45 from $22 at Craig-Hallum 08:48 EGHT Craig-Hallum analyst George Sutton raised the firm's price target on 8x8 to $45 from $22 and keeps a Buy rating on the shares following better than expected results driven by new logos and strong demand for its Microsoft Teams related capabilities. With a clear line of sight to sustainable free cash flow in 2H22, Sutton believes the stock is set up well for consistent execution under new CEO David Sipes' leadership.

    EGHT gummy of the day---

  3. It will be interesting to see if VUZI screams back today was it on some list I wonder and folks could not buy? Or was it not on a list and this became a source of funds?

  4. The Nasdaq has had several one-day pullbacks in the past couple of months — Dec. 9, Jan. 14, Jan. 15 and Jan 27 — with a quick return to new highs. The problem is that the Nasdaq quickly gets extended again.

Even with Thursday's weak close, the Nasdaq is 5% above its 50-day line. While that's off Monday's peak of 8.2%, it's not far from the 6% level that typically means it's getting extended.

That may limit the potential upside for the market rally and leading stocks. On the downside, the risks of another pullback remain high. While the last several pullbacks have been short-lived, eventually there will be a more serious sell-off.

The risk-reward ratio on new buys isn't as attractive as in the early stages of a confirmed stock market rally.

In any case, there aren't many stocks that are offering good buying opportunities right now. A number of stocks are staging solid rebounds from their 50-day or 10-week lines, but often from steep sell-offs. (Target(TGT), which had a less-steep retreat to the 50-day line and the top of its recent consolidation, may be an exception.)

A longer pullback or sideways action by the stock market rally would let the 50-day line truly catch up to the Nasdaq. It would also allow more stocks to form new bullish bases or rebounds.

Once J&J broke this morning the hordes descended on Novavax. Novavax right now 225.83 USD +91.82 (68.52%). I saved some to sell this morning, though sold over half last night. timing things is really hard. sorry that J&J loss was NVAX gain. Curevac CVAC is going to start to look tempting.

  7. It seems to me I have to listen to what is being said (GM) about electric cars and make a stand. Is it going to happen or not? What happens to the price of gas if there are no more gas engines being made ten short years from now from a major US maker!

So One big question is the EV thing. And there are half way methods of playing the trend both Westport WPRT and XL Fleet XL adapt traditional engines into various " hybrid " to Green driving systems.

Then we have the Pot question: Is this happening? Does anyone care anymore? Is it now a race to the bottom price wise? Vaping sucks and kills you... Someone like Tillray is going to make a killing.

Lastly all the gambling. Both stock & Sport! Because they could be related. All this money being made by people in the stock market if they are making money-- this is apt to start a new trend which will sop up the same checks from the government that is driving the sports wagering.

  8. re: J&J Don't forget the major effort here was to get Covid killing amount of vaccine into one shot. You can assume the studies they are doing now of using two of the shots or a booster to that shot will result in higher data points.

J&J is great news because it can last along time in a normal fridge and it kept people from dying at 100% rate<--- I mean that's huge, that's taking the whole cyclatic storm ARSD or whatever out of the picture! <-- And maybe a few biotech working on that problem with it.....

  9. XL-And trading at around $18-$19.50 per share as of this writing, investors seem to be following the advice of CNBC’s Jim Cramer. The host of the network’sMad Moneysuggested the stock may have been a steal at $15 but cautioned them not to chase it above $20.

XL Fleet manufactures hybrid and plug-in powertrains that can transition traditional gas-powered vehicles into hybrids.

XL Fleet has other competitors in this arena, notably Hyliion(NYSE:HYLN). When I wrote about Hyliion in January I said that the story was just getting interesting. In the case of XL Fleet, the company’s products are already being used in selectFord(NYSE:F),General Motors(NYSE:GM) and Isuzu(OTCMKTS:ISUZY) fleet trucks

  10. 'Goldilocks' scenario for U.S. cannabis industry in play, says Stifel 11:13 ACB, CGC, IGC, CANN, ZYNE, CRON, TLRY, CVSI, CNTTF, APHA, TCNNF Stifel analyst Andrew Partheniou says Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumer has confirmed that he, along with Democratic Senators and some Republicans, is working on a federal cannabis reform bill that the analyst calls the "Goldilocks" scenario. Partheniou believes Schumer's comments outline a bill that resembles the STATES Act, but includes social justice provisions, and could address obstacles to have a significant positive impact on cannabis operators' regulatory environment. The analyst thinks this development could potentially foreshadow the most significant catalyst in the history of the US cannabis industry. Publicly traded companies in the space include Aphria (APHA), Aurora Cannabis (ACB), CV Sciences (CVSI), CannTrust Holdings (CNTTF), Canopy Growth (CGC), Cronos Group (CRON), General Cannabis (CANN), India Globalization Capital (IGC), Tilray (TLRY), Trulieve Cannabis (TCNNF) and Zynerba (ZYNE).
