Got some easy money for those patient enough to wait til June for return. Huya current price $3.23 will pay $1.47 ex dividend date June 17. I did this same stock last Sept-Oct. When it paid $1.08 dividend. I bought in at $3.98, watched it run to around $6 and I thought about selling, but was in it for the dividend so held and sold at $4.30 after ex date and collected $1.08 dividend. My plan this time is buy now at $3.20 and sell at $4.80 range for the 50% gain
csiq came to my attention midsummer last year, where i bought and sold for small but quick profit. i overheard from a good friend, who went to a conference in shanghai where the ceo of the company, dr. qu, complained privately that biden energy policy discriminated chinese. and qu is a chinese-born canadian citizen. his company revenue is more than the rivals but the valuation is far less. and the low cost manufacturing in us, canada and europe will never work. his target is musk’s energy business, which came online later last year with a new factory in shanghai. my recent thesis is the us-china competition, in space, semiconductors and battery techs. i look for companies that have competent ceo with manufacturing footprint in china but market the products in the west. under such thesis, csiq is a perfect fit, much better than a white man run company like first solar. just big talks and no actions.
