YOUR CORRECTION STARTED Aug 6 & I told You this Aug 4th. GBA: No 1 market Timing 4 years in a row. Confirmed! #myTAbetterthanyourTA
If you actually buy stocks you know when the correction started. LOL. Van's paper trading and watching the index number is really embarrassing but you all know that by now. By the time Van tells you stocks are going down- woa you have already lost 10% on all momentum plays... Will he ever learn? probably not. What can we do?
This is the result of one day of my active trading in a very long year. Add em up and realize how much tax I pay. DIS + 2% LSPD +4% URG +8% FIG +6% LYTS +15% LSPD +4% TECX +4% "We don't watch the index we trade it"- VPL

I've made a very large return long since Aug 4th. Not all sectors are correlated. Small caps in Canada are hot right now, especially Silver stocks. I'm also seeing Copper and Oil stocks as potential recovery plays but I sold all my Oil stocks for seasonal reasons and have only two Copper plays ( Imperial and ERO ) which I will sell if they fully recover. Not sure what I'll do about Santa Cruz it made new highs at $1.60ish Cdn and $2 minimum seems certain but I'd like to see a down day to rebuy some. If it goes back to $1.45 that's an entry point. Miscellaneous stocks I'm tracking recently on momentum : Nova Nordisk, Tidewater Renewables, Avante ( helium ), Well Health Technologies, Baytex Energy, Surge Copper. Only trading Avante and Surge at the moment based on recent ranges ( thin small cap stocks ). The strategy is to play beaten down stocks that turned profitable, the Silver bull while it lasts, and buying corrections in Copper/Oil stocks. One strategy that has worked really well is buying miners that do financing deals in the 1-3 day sell off that occurs after the news. GR Silver I missed a big move earlier this year because I was long on the sell off and bailed when I recovered it but it taught me unless the deal is substantially material it ends up being bullish given time ( eg if it furthers their expected mine production given current commodity prices ). Of course higher risk strategies which produce higher returns if you catch a good sentiment/environment for the sector. Not unlike the bull in Cdn Oil stocks from Summer 2020 to Spring 2022 a move I did well on but underplayed the massive payouts that occurred.
I don't like Lightspeed seems like a weak player in a strong sector in recent years. Haven't looked at the details but some analysts don't like it much.
I love where your head is at Nine. Do you invest outside of energy? Nova Nord? My thesis as it is-- and I know it's weak... is that we will have a massive draw down in tech. Most likely FB starts this and that's a problem for me, the bulk of my son's fat account is made up of 100 FB shares bought day 1. If only it had been 1,000. The rotation play has failed a few times but I have not been behind it. Now with the failure of Ai to impress and the cost of developing Ai wrecking balance sheets, it is time to ROTATE AWAY FROM TECH. It's a tough pill to swallow. In fact I struggle with it. most all of these ideas I have brought to GBA/VPL lately have been tech or tech adjacent. We need a watch list with different plays// -----------NEW WATCH/NOT THE OLD WATCH---------- (1)WMS Advanced Drainage Systems, Inc. $147.29 +6.85(+4.88%)4:00 PM 08/22/25 NYSE |$USD |Post-Market:$149.25+1.96(+1.33%)6:06 PM (2)POST Post Holdings, Inc. $114.04 +3.12(+2.81%)4:00 PM 08/22/25 NYSE | (3)DORM Dorman Products, Inc. $162.73 +9.61(+6.28%)4:00 PM 08/22/25 (4)VVVValvoline Inc. $39.85 0.97(+2.49%)4:00 PM 08/22/25 (5)FND Floor & Decor Holdings, Inc. $88.02 +7.15(+8.84%)4:00 PM 08/22/25 (6)DRVN Driven Brands Holdings Inc. $18.25 +1.06(+6.17%) (7)HAYW Hayward Holdings, Inc. $16.56 0.75(+4.74%)4:00 PM 08/22/25 Some general thoughts- I usually let the HF do the banks for me. I'll look there too. You'll see some of my car fix stocks in there that's because they haven't really fired for me too much & I think I have the theme right but it is taking longer to play out. I'm open to small cap. and value. I tried to list some mid cap or higher powerhouse ideas above. These are the type pf names I think we should rotate into. As I see it by Oct I will have very little tech./ As Ai fades I think Drone & Space ideas remain hot. & Nuclear. These will be the sexy ideas.~si
I'm kind of with you in the sense all cloud-based software subscription names seem to be getting bitch slapped. I'm aware most analysts do not like LSPD. They also missed earn. Bit of a TA play for me vs peers. But I like the revenue and the potential here-
valuation metrics present a mixed picture. The price-to-sales (P/S) ratio stands at 1.77, which is relatively low compared to its historical median of 6.03, if you take a longer look (5 year) you may like the idea better. The TA picture points to $16-$22. ~si
