  2. Continuing my analogy: The ship has now been turned around and awaits a thrust of it's engines. We continue to drift in the currents making no gain. Earnings season sell offs all start this way. We are pointing the wrong direction now.

We are still not raising cash just limiting buying and taking gains. sometime ill advised gains.. but that's another matter. We sold a few big positions yesterday but i am willing to put that money to work in special situations like Parsons and Flowserve..

I gave out some S&P guideposts when those levels are reached/ broached we will go to a raise cash call for further declines. It may not happen. I don't know. I just feel the market is too expensive now for what growth it pretends to offer. And investors are off sides. ~stoney

  3. Bond investors are pricing in increased price pressures in the inflation market over the next few years. Breakeven inflation as indicated in the U.S. five-year Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities hit 2.476% late on Monday, a three-month high.

In a recent escalation of criticism of Powell, the White House is probing cost overruns in the renovation of the Fed's historic headquarters in Washington.

The questioning has intensified concerns among market participants over risks that the Trump administration will try to fire Powell for cause, perhaps the only legal path for it to do so. U.S. Treasury 30-year yields on Tuesday topped 5% for the first time since late May, as investors fretted about the country's huge fiscal deficit and assessed the risk of Powell's exit from the central bank.

  4. JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon pointed to those risks in an earnings call on Tuesday, saying: "The independence of the Fed is absolutely critical, and not just for the current Fed chairman, who I respect, Jay Powell, but for the next Fed chairman."

"Playing around with the Fed can often have adverse consequences, absolutely opposite of what you might be hoping for," Dimon added.

  5. What I am alert to is lack of momentum // All I hear on TV is how great the market is. All the houses have raised their targets in the past week... Why? Who are they trying to fool.... By any measure we are heading towards an earnings slow down. How large is the question. Wall street is frantically trying to keep retail in the game so they can play catch up./

It is all gonna depend on guidance. All the big players will once again provide measured guidance. I think that's priced in, but we may drift lower. Obviously we're overdue for a pullback. The market is on hair trigger to drop on any bad news, but the White House holds all the cards so any sizeable drop will be met with something WS will love.

  8. How can you give good guidance with the tariffs? I don't see it. Obviously feel free to invest away, I can tell you don't agree with the market neutral call. But GBA needs to be a beacon for small investors.

A sizable drop it shall be!

The only cards the white house has is the usual lies.

Don't get trapped by the lies.

Think for yourself. If you think the market PE can get up to 24-26 have at it.
