If you really TRADED, you wouldn't have to post 15 minute delayed quotes, and you could might actually be able to keep up with the real traders here. You wouldn't last a minute on B1's thread. Yes that's ES, but it's just a proxy for the SPY and the Q's.

    You'd get eaten alive.

  2. Stoney those picks at the beginning of this thread were just stupid shout outs in response

Don't you think I know that. It was disrespectful as heck to me who is creating new ideas and new winners. So where as I put a lot of research in on every idea --you shouldn't shout out anything especially when I have given you the rules for this thread.

I would like you to start the next GBA thread. Not so you see how hard it is but I think if your name is on the header you will refrain from shouting out a bunch of losing ideas quickly.

Research Research Research. I do it every day.

    It's the GBA way!

    You got this!

  4. I certainly don't want to beat up on Van. This guy has a heart of gold. It's just his view on stocks.

Lets look at Uber which I bought some yesterday to an ongoing position that I have had for a while.

Van sees the markets down 10% and goes back and finds an idea I liked that of course is down with the market insert emoji and smart ass statement.o_O

I never do that!, I only bust Van on his various stks that fall apart in an up market. I understand that stocks go up and down.

What is the Reverse Van Indicator?

Well.. it's times like this when the good research that I have done and the good stock picking that I have done is for naught and you can get an idea lower than when I said it was a good idea.. the move then...

    A) Make a snarky post.

    B) see opportunity and buy...:fistbump:

Stoney back when I used to play basketball, we would feel sorry for guys like you and deliberately let them scoot inside the key for a lay-up. I was the hoopster . You're right I do have a heart of gold.I was watching the games at the olympics, and it brought back fond memories.

Stoney I trade. If I see a good stock and I like the story, I share it in my serious thread. I gave out only two picks this week, both solid companies, and both up nicely amid the turmoil. I find undiscovered companies, or companies that I think are cheap, do the research, and if I like them I post them.

I see you mentioned LRN (Stride) above. That's a perfect example. No one had ever heard of it when I brought it to ET.
As you noted above... It doubled in just over one year. :sneaky:

Throwing out 10 stock picks everyday willy-nilly is foolish. You don't do any research... you post articles and go by analysts calls. You'll never win long term doing that. The stuff you're doing belongs on Wall Street Bets, because it's exactly what goes on there.

I teach disciplined investing based on a company's price and future growth potential. That takes work. Needles in a haystack.

And when it comes to day-trading... which is what I do, you're not even close brother. You can't read an intra-day chart to save your life. You get lucky with story stocks occasionally, and that's about it. And even those, your ratio of wins to losses is 50% at best. So why not post a lesser number, and use a little more precision research.

  10. Just had a really frustrating trip to the gummy store. hardly any of the stuff I put in my basket made it to the final sale. 4 items? :banghead: I walked all the way over there.

Then I went to buy duck legs in the green market and the guy left his stand. And I stood there in the rain for 5 minutes...
