Look I don't know if this is some twisted ARB joke or what. I feel they are shaking the tree to gather shares. fine. YOU got me-- I'm out./ GBA Sell-->CVGW Calavo Growers, Inc. $26.94-0.74(-2.67%)3:58 PM 06/17/25
I have 11000 shares on the TSX accumulated over the last few days. Also in on Athabaska Oil, MEG Energy; several day trades on Nuvista and Tamarack I'm out on those two. Sold a quarter of my massive Santa Cruz Silver position today the swings were wild but it's looking bullish again now. Sold half my Surge Copper shares at a nice profit.
Baytex is a way to play Oil spikes. Tamarack is closing in on $5 Cdn where someone has a large sell order if it busts past that it could run.
It is pinned to PAAS who took them over. PAAS is a large Producer basically correlates with Silver prices. I sold at $26 Cdn because of this : Today : MAG +1.1%, SCZ +8.1%, VZLA +0.6% One Month : MAG +15.4%, SCZ +81.4%, VZLA +35.3% YTD rounded : MAG +42%, SCZ +256%, VZLA +89% MAG was of course bigger then the two I listed here but in a strong bull move I wanted some torq. MAG made a great move from $18 Cdn to $26 Cdn but I really don't like the large caps like PAAS in this space so I cashed that move.
Hummmmmmm. It's weird the charfts are intact but this sector can swing on non technical reasons. Does the horse lead the cart or vice versa. I may sell MAG.
Beyond the takeover premium some MAG shareholders were unhappy with the transaction because they were a low cost producer hitting the sweet spot and they've been waiting years to cash in. Like many TSX stocks though they are slow to respond to fundamental moves which makes them attractive takeover targets. Some of my trading favorites are gone now ( eg Crew Energy, Enerplus, MAG Silver, Veren, and now MEG Energy is a target ). All underappreciated stocks by the general market. Without the takeover I'd likely have kept it but getting swallowed up by PAAS basically dilutes the value play imo and I mostly play value.
