Day two of being without Bacchus in the apt. Yesterday was tough. Telling folks and having to explain what happened. Honestly I don't know if I'm going to make it. I have lost my sense of purpose. To pass the time I've been reading your posts. Entertaining as ever. Van- Do you still feel the top is in here?
Yea Fidelity online would get a very small allotment of an IPO. ETrade gets more but not much. Schwab I'm sure fattens their big clients they have good reach. And of course the underwriters have most of the spare float. I didn't know there even was a big IPO, I'm blissfully unawares, I will say i saw the CEO I think on TV and he was nice and old. That's the type of managemnt you want in this unstablecoin arena.
It's Belmont weekend I don't have a good feel for that race because it's not at Elmont NY this year and as such not as long. They are re doing the track at Belmont. I'm going to try and get a bet in.
Gold’s Cheaper Precious Metal Peers Surge to Multi-Year Highs This gets tricky now/ Could be a sign of a top./ Silver and Platinum have real world applications. So we need a good economy to serve those markets and by most accounts we are heading for recession or stagflation. Adding to silver's attraction-- gold is just so expensive you can't order new jewelry so there is massive demand from India for Silver, a country that usually consumes gold. Silver is a key input into photovoltaic solar panels, while platinum is used in catalytic converters in combustion engines and laboratory equipment. Both markets are heading for a deficit this year, following several years where demand outstripped supply. - Platinum exchange funds are being floated now and this could increase the speculative surge. With Silver at $35-$36 these is a real inflection point.
When you realize your shareholders really own the company... this was not in the Project 25' playbook... Stockholders at Walmart (WMT) and PayPal (PYPL) on Thursday voted down proposals that would have upended how those companies deal with diversity, equity, and inclusion, an issue that has roiled companies across the corporate world amid shifting political and cultural pressures. Walmart investors voted down shareholder proposals related to the company's DEI initiatives, while PayPal investors roundly rejected a proposal that would have required the company to analyze the risks of its charitable contributions.
