I am not being negative-nelly in any way, but just accept the fact that it will only (gradually) get worse. The same thing will happen to us I guess.... regardless of our denials to the contrary. Regarding the 'puter.... come on Stoney... you're the guy that has accounts that spike +/-$100K daily right(?).... just buy a new f'ing computer, although as always... I respect your cheapness. Being frugal (cheap) is good. The children need to learn that. 20% of every paycheck needs to be saved. Be it a coffee-can or treasuries. Or other hard assets. There are many depending on where one's expertise lies.
This is just my opinion but put old dogs down immediately. Don't wait till they're in obvious immobile crippling pain. Alot of owners are too weak, or emotional, to do that...but it has to be done
