The tariff situation is in flux. Behind the scenes you would think there is some deal making going on. If Asia links up and Europe & Canada link up it's trade war on. And it's also a painful recession. They have to know that. Trump can pretend all he wants that the beloved stock market that reflects on his greatness free falling is not a problem. But it is. Is the plan to break the elite? The make everyone but billionaires poor so we are desperate for food scraps and a dictator who will give us candy. Or is there some real plan here. God he had enough time to work one out. The ending the war in 1 day I'll give him a pass on that because it it sounded dumb ass from the get go. But don't take a thriving economy and break it on purpose.. that gets to some Hitler stuff quick. Even if it looks bad tomorrow deals can still be struck so it's tough to predict the markets rage. Last time Trump did all of this he gave so many carve outs it was a useless endeavor. This time he won't be so kind... If everyone stands up to us it will be real interesting. Our unemployment will spike.
The next real problem nobody is talking about. It's not tariffs. It's The raising the debt limit. The plan to to vastly raise that limit will be looked at poorly by rating companies and S&P is not afraid of dear Donald. Not at all. Timing is unclear... do we have to cross some spending threshold % of GDP or is just the act of greatly raising the debt ceiling enough to trigger a downgrade. We all know how that goes in the market.
