The Time Has Probably Come To Shut Our Eyes And Buy LAZR

Jefferies starts 'emerging LiDAR leader' Luminar at Buy 07:09 LAZR As previously reported, Jefferies analyst David Kelley initiated coverage of Luminar with a Buy rating and $20 price target. He estimates Level 1 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, or ADAS, penetration has expanded from 6% in 2016 to 39% in 2021 and believes Level 2 and on-highway autonomous are poised to drive the next leg of secular growth. Underlying systems require incremental cameras as well as likely LiDAR implementation for on-highway autonomous, said Kelley, who views Luminar as "an emerging LiDAR leader" supported by a strong commercial customer and partner list. He sees the company having a roadmap to scaled series production and "likely market share leadership in autos," added the analyst.

  3. I don't really fancy myself a control freak but I cannot stand being not in control.

First he was taking this bus ride which would send him through Port Authority... Kid has never been there before... This is one of the roughest sections of town.

Then he got yelled at by his basketball coach for missing a game Fri... So now he is going to miss the bus, play in the game and then take some 666 car. And arrive in the middle of the night.

Icy roads some driver I don't know only him in the car... These kids today they think they know everything but... I'm really in a pckle here. Because if he doesn't go it's a birthday weekend spent staring at your parents and I know there will be Uber resentment.

"666 car" Lol. The devil car. Too funny Stoney. I had a few of those back in the day.
    Yeah it's a tough call.
Sit him down, spell it all out, let him reassure you, and let him go. Ya gotta do it Stoney. If he knows your concerns and he knows you really care, he'll be careful. I would do a little DD on the driver though. Or ask your son about him. Gotta keep the lines of communication open. That's the best thing.

  5. Kirby reports Q4 adjusted EPS 27c, consensus 25c 07:13 KEX

Extreme Networks reports Q2 non-GAAP EPS 21c, consensus 17c 07:10 EXTR Reports Q2 revenue $280.9M, consensus $272.07M. "Extreme continued its momentum with strong execution, once again exceeding our outlook to set a new quarterly record for revenue and net income, despite significant supply chain challenges. We continued to gain market share in cloud networking, delivering 55% growth year-over-year in SaaS ARR. Strong demand for our solutions across all our customer verticals resulted in over $90M of incremental backlog during the quarter, bringing the total to nearly $300M at quarter end. I am also very proud to report that earlier this month we completed the integration of Ipanema ahead of plan. We will launch our ExtremeCloud SD-WAN solutions this quarter, which will drive additional subscription revenue for Extreme, particularly as we enter Fiscal '23," stated Ed Meyercord, President and CEO. "Extreme delivered another quarter of strong financial performance with double-digit year over year revenue growth for the fourth consecutive quarter and an improvement in our non-GAAP operating margin of nearly 3-percentage points to 13.1%, despite higher costs associated with supply chain constraints. During the quarter, we executed a buyback of 1.8 million Extreme shares for $25 million under our existing share repurchase program. As we enter the second half of fiscal year 2022, we remain confident in our ability to deliver double-digit revenue growth and a non-GAAP operating margin in the range of 10 to 15%," concluded Remi Thomas, CFO.

Clean Energy upgraded to Outperform from Underperform at Evercore ISI 05:31 CLNE Evercore ISI analyst Todd Firestone double upgraded Clean Energy to Outperform from Underperform with an $11 price target. Current valuation levels are "looking increasingly attractive" as it is clear that Clean Energy is the largest compressed natural gas/liquified natural gas provider in the U.S. and is receiving too great a discount, Firestone tells investors in a research note. The analyst sees an attractive risk/reward at current share levels.

JPMorgan upgrades 'Growth All-Star' GitLab to Overweight 05:10 GTLB JPMorgan analyst Sterling Auty upgraded GitLab to Overweight from Neutral with an unchanged price target of $99. The analyst calls the company a "Growth All-Star" with a current valuation less than 18-times 2022 revenue. The results from Microsoft and ServiceNow validate that the fundamentals in software continue to be very good, Auty tells investors in a research note. After the bear market, the subsequent 12 months will see software stocks that are beating and raising on revenue outperform, and GitLab will be one of those companies, says the analyst.

Packaging Corp. announces new $1B share repurchase plan 17:46 PKG Commenting on reported results, Mark Kowlzan, Chairman and CEO, said, "Demand in our Packaging segment remained very strong, with our corrugated products plants delivering record fourth quarter total shipments and an all-time record shipments per day that exceeded last year's extremely strong fourth quarter. We utilized the capability of both machines at our Jackson, AL mill to produce containerboard for the entire quarter yet inventories, including the additional containerboard inventory from our December acquisition of Advance Packaging, moved lower from the end of September. Throughout the quarter, implementation of our previously announced containerboard and corrugated products price increases was executed extremely well. Although unprecedented inflation in most all of our operating cost categories and freight cost continues, we were able to offset some of this impact by taking advantage of the strong market conditions with great operational execution in both our mills and corrugated products plants as well as from favorable weather patterns helping with our wood and energy costs. Across the company, the commitment and dedication exhibited by our employees to meet our customers' needs while overcoming the difficulties and challenges brought on by on-going labor shortages, now exacerbated by the Omicron variant, supply chain bottlenecks, and logistics constraints has been outstanding. Finally, during the quarter we utilized the remaining $193 million of share repurchase authorization to buyback over 1.4 million shares of our stock at an average price of $133.79 per share. Our board of directors recently approved a new $1 billion repurchase authorization."

Pershing Square acquires over 3.1M Netflix shares 17:15 NFLX Pershing Square's Bill Ackman said the firm purchased more than 3.1M shares of Netflix, making Pershing a top-20 holder in the company. "I have long admired Reed Hastings and the remarkable company he and his team have built," Ackman said. "We are delighted that the market has presented us with this opportunity." Reference Link

Methanex reports Q4 adjusted EPS $2.43, consensus $1.23 17:08 MEOH Reports Q4 revenue $1.25B, consensus $982.64M. CEO John Floren said, "I am extremely proud of the record financial results we delivered in 2021 amid the continuing impact of COVID-19. In 2021, we took actions to strengthen our asset portfolio by restarting the construction of G3, restarting Chile IV and completing the G2 debottlenecking project. In the fourth quarter, the strong fundamentals of the methanol industry, coupled with our high levels of production and strong and consistent execution of our strategy enabled us to generate strong free cash flow and deliver one of the strongest operational and financial performances in our history. Our capital allocation priorities remain the same. We are well positioned to maintain our business, pursue attractive growth opportunities and continue our long track record of returning excess cash to shareholders through a sustainable dividend and share buybacks."
