Hope you feel better Stoney, we appreciate all you and others do for elite traders. Don’t let your guard down, virus still with us unfortunately!
sorry buddy. Tell Mrs. Stoney you are sorry and you'll try to do better going forward. Maybe she will bring ya some chicken soup or at least some broth. If that doesn't work.... sick Bacchus on her!
Chicken soup it was. First thing I kept down. As I research regional banks getting a flashback to a time when these stocks were fun. Can't say when it may of been the 90's but there was 5-10 year run when these regional banks really were different from each other and some took off mightily. Loan growth is not so hot now so you can run across some Smaller banks that have great relations in the community and have loans out on property that is now up. A guy was on CNBC yesterday and spat out some good names I was so pissed I was under this" gravity Blanket " which is a super heavy blanket and I could get up to get a pen... Lots of the number crunching with banks is a harken back to times when metrics mattered. Would you believe Van's Arch Capital Group notched a new high Fri. This is the most powerful stock out there. What's amazing is their last earn report the beat the EPS estimate they actually missed on revs! No mater- Here is what Baron Partners Fund has to say about Arch Capital Group Ltd. (NASDAQ:ACGL) in its Q1 2021 investor letter: “Arch Capital Group Ltd. is a specialty insurance company based in Bermuda. The stock increased on quarterly earnings that exceeded investor estimates and 15% growth in its book value per share. Pricing trends are favorable in the property & casualty insurance market, and the outlook for the mortgage insurance business has substantially improved as the economy recovers from last year’s pandemic-related uncertainty. We continue to own the stock because we expect earnings growth to resume and admire Arch’s strong management team and underwriting discipline.”
Bank OZK (NASDAQ:OZK) is a regional bank in Arkansas, operating across ten states, offering treasury services, retail banking, and commercial banking. Bank OZK (NASDAQ:OZK), reported Q3 earnings on October 21, and the EPS for the quarter came in at $1.00, beating estimated EPS by $0.03. Revenue for Bank OZK (NASDAQ:OZK) was also more than analysts’ had expected. At $275.05 million, the revenue beat estimates by $8.12 million. Here is what Diamond Hill Capital has to say about Bank OZK (NASDAQ:OZK) in its Q1 2021 investor letter: “Second-largest holding Bank OZK has grown to be a respected partner in commercial real estate development. Its real estate specialty group tackles highly complex real estate transactions and is a conservative underwriter, as shown by its minimal credit losses over many years of experience.”
Related? Send your better half out for a case or two of glass bottled mineral water and drink it with some lime squeezed in for good measure. Run your taps for a while after the water comes back on. Careful of that city water till you feel better.
CHEWY is at an important inflection point. If the stock were to dive from here it would be over. Lower lows and it never stops. Another busted high-growth idea... or is it. I maintain a hell of alot of pet shops have closed due to the high prices of rent and then the Covid. Pretty much the last place you want to be is a tiny smelly pet shop buying your dog food. I happily still do it because I want to support the local merchant but I bet around American alot of people don't go to the pet food store anymore. If you are going to risk Covid why not make it the post office? Or a really good pastry shop. In Earnings now the big story is who pulled forward earnings and who didn't. Who can repeat the feat and who cannot. Ironically these semis that are running hot they pulled forward! Big time. There is going to be a lack of orders and a canceling of backlog as manufacturers who doubled down when chips got tight realize they have what hey need especially as the economy slows... so there's a big reckoning there still. But back to dog and cat food. A very large amount of the new sign ups in Covid are going to stick. There may not be explosive growth from here for Chewy but they really control the market. Chewy's sales multiple is at its lowest level since mid-2020.
Ha you know I'm too paranoid for that! I only drink Iceland Water with a high PH because I have an acid problem. NYC water is 7% PH which is good but I'm 8.8% PH boy!
Smoking is back in vogue. When Vapes started I wondered about the amount of cloud that people blew out. It was too much. And this younger generation has caught on pretty quick. It was older dependent folks that were vaping the most to the average kid they wondered why I am I consuming an entire packs worth of nicotine when I used too only smoke one or two ciggs? People are now posing on Instagram and such while in the act of smoking. Actual weed as soon as it became legal it became more of " green self help " idea to the younger generation. It's not cool when Gramps is also taking gummies for his knee. It's a fascinating case study in trends, it really is but smoking is back. Is there an investment here? Unfortunately Reynolds American got gobbled. They make American Spirit brand. British American Tobacco Plc announced Tuesday it has completed the purchase of the 57.8 percent of Reynolds it did not already own. ... BAT paid $54.5 billion for total ownership. Reynolds' stock will be delisted from the New York Stock Exchange and S&P indices at the close of trading Tuesday.//// Which brings us to British American Tobacco p.l.c. (BTI)- at a 52 week high! NYSE - Nasdaq $42.45+0.76(+1.82%) At close: January 14 04:00PM EST 7% yield.
