Might be a decent play long term, but they diluted the heck out of it a couple months ago to raise 20 million and are still feeling the pinch of that. Smoking Fish rates it a proceed with caution.
Price of copper at 10 year highs and expected to rise a bit next year. No reason to doubt that. Smoking Fish approval to go long granted.
"A bit"?!!! Lol, which guru was that? SCCO closed up almost 6% today. It's so friggin' obvious. Not only is demand gonna go thru the friggin roof assuming the world's EV aspirations begin to materialize, but in an inflationary environment, a commodity like copper is one of the best things in the world to own. It's the perfect storm. Think about what's coming.
Lumber quadrupled (+) in 17 months between Oct 2019 and May 2021. To think commodities are slow movers is nuts. Now, setting aside the points I made above regarding demand and inflation.... and I can honestly say I have never been to a copper mine... but I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say pulling that stuff out of the ground and transporting it from point A to point B... consumes a sh*t ton of diesel fuel. This is not a cost a competitor can come in and undercut you with. For the most part, it's a level playing field rise across the board. Ie the price goes up even more. Worldwide. Buy copper!
These miners all have tons of debt. Freeport's an elephant. They all are. They'll be scrambling to beat the bottom-line estimates this time around. Fuel and labor will sting unless they revised, but you can bet they'll beat on top. Without doing some serious historical dd on these things, I'm not sure what the best play is. That SCCO was the closest I could find to a stock that wasn't too laden with other bs, albeit I'm sure they have more than their share. Copper mining comes with a lot of environmental issues, and this Administration lol.... yeah... AOC wants to electrify the world.... but I'm sure she's not on the side of the evil miners. Just a hunch. We'll get rainbows and and sprinkles copper to make it all happen.
Stoney!!!!! Remember when I said that Banksy painting that was estimated to sell for $5M was a good deal even thought it had originally sold for $1.4M and you mocked me?! +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Shredded Banksy artwork sells for $25.4 million at auction By JILL LAWLESS October 14, 2021 GMT LONDON (AP) — A work by British street artist Banksy that sensationally self-shredded just after it sold at auction three years ago fetched almost 18.6 million pounds ($25.4 million) on Thursday — a record for the artist, and close to 20 times its pre-shredded price. “Love is in the Bin” was offered by Sotheby’s in London, with a presale estimate of 4 million pounds to 6 million pounds ($5.5 million to $8.2 million). After a 10-minute bidding war involving nine bidders in the saleroom, online and by phone, it sold for three times the high estimate to an undisclosed buyer. The sale price of 18,582,000 pounds ($25,383,941) includes an auction-house fee known as a buyer’s premium. The piece consists of a half-shredded canvas in an ornate frame bearing a spray-painted image of a girl reaching for a heart-shaped red balloon. When it last sold at Sotheby’s in October 2018, the piece was known as “Girl With Balloon.” Just as an anonymous female European buyer made the winning bid — for 1 million pounds ($1.4 million) — a hidden shredder embedded in the frame by Banksy whirred to life, leaving half the canvas hanging from the frame in strips. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ -le savante <---------

Petco Health and Wellness Company(NASDAQ:WOOF)is listed on Evercore ISI's Best SMID Core Ideas list with the firm calling it an unique growth story in the hardlines sector. Petco is noted to have taken the steps to become a true multichannel retailer, combining online sales with traffic driving services like vet clinics. Offerings have been taken more upscale to make the company more of a Health & Wellness pet retailer. "We think the high-single digit growth and unique positioning justifies the valuation with upside as they execute on differentiated products, vet clinics and multichannel opportunities. Balance sheet deleverage will bring P/E multiples into focus by 2022," updates analyats Oliver Wintermantel. Wedbush Securities adds Matterport Inc.(NASDAQ:MTTR)to its Best Ideas List on its view that the spatial data platform player is underappreciated by investors for being in the early innings of a massive growth story playing out over the coming years. Analyst Dan Ives: "Based on our recent checks and customer conversations we have increased confidence in the Matterport growth story heading into 2022 as the company's free to paid conversion model and further penetration of the real estate vertical remains near-term keys to a stepped-up growth story looking ahead. To this point, penetration on the retail verticals remains very untapped and the penetration story and free to paid conversion opportunity is massive in our opinion". Ives and team think the total addressable market for MTTR is as high as $240B and see a re-rating on the stock as the subscription story plays out. Wedbush keeps an Outperform rating on Matterport (MTTR) and price target of $26.
