Here Come The Robots. GXO Logistics is hiring by the thousands nationally – and by the hundreds in the Dallas area. The Connecticut company is aiming to hire 800-plus folks in North Texas, according to a spokesperson. The positions range from application development engineers to forklift operators to folks in human resources. The push comes as the company looks to hire roughly 9,000 people in North America ahead of the peak holiday season, according to an announcement on Wednesday. Globally, GXO is recruiting more than 20,000. The company is looking for help as the U.S. and the world grapples with supply chain challenges that are affecting industries that include automobiles. At the same time, companies are ratcheting up efforts to find more workers as competition grows for qualified employees. During the second quarter, GXO’s revenue climbed more than $1.5 billion to roughly $5 billion. Key states where GXO is hiring include Texas, California, Georgia, Indiana and Pennsylvania. A key area of demand is e-commerce, and the company is looking to technology to help as well. It’s increasing the deployment of automation across its operations, up 40% year-over-year. The company plans to deploy 3,100 robots in North America by the end of 2021.
GXO is tricky. All common sense says BUY it screams BUY. LOGISTICS just what we need right now but if there are real crimps which they are and no truck drivers and nothing moving it will show up in a bad way on GXO's bottom line. This is a stk I have come very close to buying a few times. Where do you stand Van it's tricky.
GXO is a play on E commerce big time. Ironically this video is called full potential and that's exactly what I'm worried about- can GXO be that under current conditions.?
The wife and I are getting dangerously close to this. I told her I didn't feel respected this morning. I sit here in the corner and type who couldn't respect that. Ok I'll shave geeze....
Haha, like this video's Seeing american beauty when 20, you knew it was brilliant, but couldn't really understand the finesses back then. Now, when the kid goes to 5 getting a revival of the things to do you like and feel more like: --- being a data-cruncher-type guy a day i need something to feed my ADD..well, crazy tunes are great for creativity ;-) ---
Time to let this one go Stoney. I liked it at $65. Not so much now. $92.64 I think you should cut your losses and move on.
