calling for "peak inflation" is indeed bold. The effects of higher short-term rates hasn't even been seen in balance sheets yet. And THAT cycle is only now beginning, sans any of the other open spigots of the nasty stuff.

You've been around a long time, so mucho respect either way.
I think it's gonna cool down though.
Energy is the wild card, and at this point it all all comes back to the Ukraine thing.; and to some extent, the markets looking ahead at the mid-term elections.

I lost all belief that markets are forward thinking in 07-08.

The original Dell business model dubbed "just in time", is the way of the markets IMO.

    We will see.

    Carry On!

    hahahha
    One thing then....
Can you tell us all why companies that won't make any money for at least the next ten years are trading at 40X P/S's?
    ;)

Edit: The "S" in the above mentioned ratio... (P/S's)... being sales... NOT earnings.

Edit2: And that's not you... but you did say "markets". I merely pointed out "markets".

    LOL.

Thanks for defining that "S"... I would have said it's a "S"PAC, aka "S"hell. No different than 1000s of OTC companies. AeroDyne, Inc! No matter, the boys have always had their toys, their "S"peculations. Problem is nowadays the boys identify as lemmings.

  7. The question becomes not peak inflation but peak earnings. I am privy to some GS banter they are throwing around their trading desks and the feeling is the US Economy will slow to trend.. that is slow from 6% to about 2.6%<---- (ahem) // and the Fed will STILL BE RAISING FIGHTING RUNAWAY INFLATION.

The end result is almost surely a recession.
